HAPPY HUBS MONTH
CHALLENGES FOR HUBS MONTH
A HOLIDAY FOR HUBBERS
There are many celebrations on the horizon in the coming month of December. All the various holidays seem to have some themes in common. Many, but not all, celebrate the memory of some significant person. All seem to celebrate similar themes: anticipation and hope; death, rebirth and renewal; reparation and healing; darkness and light, sun and moon, night and day; giving and receiving (not taking); family and culture; fasting and celebration; and a universal search for Truth. Even those who make it a point not to celebrate are in search of the Truth!
Truth. We can get very lost in that search and even go to war over truth. Ugh! How can that be?
My humble perspective is that the way to the Truth is through the practice of humility. So what is humility? My sweetie pie reminds me over and over that I don‘t got it! So perhaps I am not the person qualified to even attempt an answer. But what the heck! I’ll humbly give it a shot! And I’ll keep it humbly simple.
Perhaps humility is acknowledging that my sweetie pie is absolutely correct. I don’t got it! Beyond this personal context, perhaps humility is simply knowing that one is not IT or ALL there is. Perhaps humility is recognizing that one is very small in comparison to the universe. Humility is not to deny one’s importance in the big scheme of things, but rather to recognize one’s unimportance in the big scheme of things. How’s that for paradox?
Is anyone still reading?
So, the whole purpose of this hub is to suggest that we create yet another holiday that all of us Hubbers could celebrate together regardless of what other holidays we celebrate during this time of year, and OF COURSE, any NON-HUBBERS could join in the celebration. We could get complicated and dangerous and unwittingly prejudiced and call this celebration Hubsmas or Hubskah or Hubsanza or Hubslam, but then we’d surely lose our inclusiveness.
So it will simply be the celebration of HUBS!
I came up with some suggestions for what HUBS stands for.
H is for Holiday
U is for Universal
B is for Brotherhood
S is for Sisterhood
And I am suggesting we celebrate HUBS during the entire month of December! So Hubs month is the month of the year we celebrate our universal brotherhood and sisterhood which would include all the aliens out there beyond the universe as we know it today!
I thought I could propose thirty one hubs, one per day, which would put out into the universe my personal challenges for the HUBS month celebration. You are ever so welcomed to adopt my challenges as your very own. OR, you could come up with your own. And it would not matter if your personal challenges were similar or very different from mine. The thirty one challenges would by yours. Imagine, if each hubber came up with thirty one personal challenges. It would certainly trigger a critical mass event and maybe the end of the world as we know it.
