My Absence from Hubpages

Updated on October 4, 2011

To all of my wonderful friends here on hubpages:

I have to take a step back from my hub...

I am resuming my quest for my Bachelor's degree, and it has once again taken over my life. I'm finding that in just these first few days of the week, I'm back to my same old habits of letting school consume all of my computer time. I am taking two classes at a time for a condensed five week semester, and there is only a one week break between semesters.

I also have been going to the doctors a lot lately - nothing is wrong - just the same things as before. I may have to find a way to go back to work at the end of the month. I'm not sure if my body will comply, but the mind is willing. I'll let you know how that is going. I may be taking on too much at once.

I won't be leaving altogether though. You all know how hard I push myself sometimes...well, I like to get all my assignments done ahead of time, so if I can keep doing that, I'll be back to check in when I can. I'll check to see what you all have written and post something, if I've had time to write.

I just want you to know that you'll all be in my thoughts and prayers. I may be checking in and waiting to comment until I have more time. But I will be back, I just want you to know I am not leaving or disappearing. You all are family, and mean so much to me.

Love you all,

Thank you all so much, I miss all the interaction - but I have so little time. I plan on catching up during my break. I start back to work on Monday, so that will not help anything, of course - and after being off two years on disability, all these changes are stressing me out. :) at least they are positive changes. I'm writing about it in my book when I have quiet time. At least I'm working on something, right?

      I miss you all...

Happy Trails, Erin. I have been like you before, and now I see I am slowing down. Figure out what your priorities are and make a mental check list so that you can cross off your accomplishments as you go. And Don't forget to thank the Good Lord Above even during the times of difficulty! I am sure you will do fine. Let me know if you need a shoulder to lean/cry on, I'll be here for you. I admire what you are going through. Take care and keep in touch! Christina :)

thank you all, I'll miss you so much. I was doing homework all day and night but couldn't resist checking in. Old habits die hard...

I'm taking an ENG class and an algebra class now, Ruby - I'm taking online classes - but they are LOTS of work. I do love it though. each class is 2 classroom hours a week, 2 Discussion board projects a week, 1 individual project (longer) a week, and lots of studying - and its all crammed into 5 weeks. I have 2 courses. The english one I am taking is research and writing with a purpose. I have 86 credits.

And dallas, yes, failed two challenge exams! they are too particular to the courses! I'm getting my degree in criminal justice.

Ruby, check out Colorado Technical University - its a great school - not easy but I went before I had to go in the hospital and am continuing there...they are awesome. The administration is great at getting financial aid and all your documentation too.

I'll drop in again to read you all before the weekend, on your sites. Namaste and brightest blessings.

Hello Erin, I won't say, " I'll miss you " because you know i will, but i understand. When i was in college earning my degree, i had zero time for anything extra. I admire you for the dedication it takes to earn a degree. I want to take a creative writing course. I contacted our local off campus college, it does not offer the course. I would have to travel to the main college which is about one hundred miles one way, so i guess i will put that on hold for now. I've thought about an on-line course,do you know anything about them? Best wishes my friend. Take care...

Have you considered "challenging" courses? ..example: you take a test, if you pass, you are given credit, or a waiver for a pre-requisite... I completed a Bachelor degree in 15 months by attending two universities at the same time (worked full-time in USAF at the same time...) and taking tests..

Each of our learning styles are different.

Best of luck in your desire to be all you can be!

Education is a tool. You get to decide how to use your acquired tools for life-long applications.

Congratulations to you! May your educational journey be fruiful and fulfill your needs!

Best of luck on your studies Erin, that should be a priority. I had to take some time off from Hub Pages myself for about a week to 10 days to tend to my son who got hospitalized for dengue fever. Need to get priorities sorted from time to time. :)
