My First Month With Hubpages

Updated on April 20, 2013

I had read some hubbers review of their Hubpages experience on their first months. And I think it is my turn this time. And I hope this hub could add encouragement to other new hubbers like me.

So here goes how I did on my first month with Hubpages. Wait a minute, just in case you glanced on the right side and see that I had been a member for 2 years, yes. But I left Hubpages after posting about 2 or 3 hubs. At that time I was focused on Ehow. Thou I regret those past two years that I should have been hubbing, I'm back this time, wanting to stay around and experience Hubpages.

To start the story, I came back to Hubpages last month which was January 28, 2012. And I told myself I would try and post 1 hub a day. And no matter how lazy I feel to post, I have to fight it, I have to post and see what will happen.

And since then I post 1 hub a day. And there are also days where I had posted more than one hub for days ahead when I don't have time to post and just wanted to rest from work.

Speaking of Hubpages earning program, I either activated it last days of January or early February. And I remember thinking, " Dang! How come I hadn't activated this the very first day I came back! Didn't I saw it? " I'd say this was like the feeling of, you know, being in a new furnished house and exploring it for the first time, learning where things are and how things work around.

Hubbing

I continued hubbing. And for the last 3 days of January I earned .72 cents. I was just surprised and happy as I really didn't expect to earn .72 cents, I was just starting.

This gave me encouragement to continue for the month of February. I would write whatever topic I could think of for the day but mostly my hubs are about the other color of vegetables and fruits that people doesn't usually see on grocery stores, to legends and Philippine culture. The first 2 weeks of February was spent on hubbing, replying on comments, and visiting those who had left me comments and read their hubs too and leave comments back. I had spent a good amount of time too searching the web for information for my hub ideas.

February earnings

After I had started submitting my hubs into search engines, sharing it on Stumbleupon, and continually doing hubs, I saw some changes on my daily earnings from having .15 cents, to .20 cents, back to .11 cents then into having .48 cents which is my highest. As of this month I haven't been down to .40 cents.

And for my earnings last month of February, I had made $6.15. It may not be much but seeing this keeps me motivated and look forward for the month of March. Right now I am aiming for .50 cents a day.

Traffic

I'd say this is the most important factor I'm still missing. The last week of February, I went to Google and type in keywords that would lead to my hubs. Then I tried typing one of my hubs title and nothing appeared! Made me think, " Nobody outside of Hubpages knows about my hubs." Or my hubs hasn't been indexed to Google yet and so I decided to submit my hubs to other search engines.

And so I started submitting each one of my hubs into search engines. That same night I also shared my hubs on Stumbleupon. And few hours after that I saw a lot of the red triangular icon next to my hubs indicating the traffic rising.

I'm still learning

I might be here for a month now but I'm still learning. Might sound funny, ( and I did laughed at myself) but just yesterday I learned about linking and sharing others hub and I'm working on that. I also had learned from another hubber the importance of updating hubs. And guessed what, it does work!

Another thing I'm doing right now which is another reason why I'm looking forward to the end of March and see my progress is that I started sharing my hubs on Delicious. And tomorrow I might be doing some Digging amongst other. I'm already doing Facebook and Twitter but I know it's not enough. These are all time consuming but just thinking the benefit of it makes it worth it.

So how do you do with your Hubpages first month?
