My satisfaction comes from writing topics that concern me. If others find them useful or interesting, that's great. I try to help by sharing some of my knowledge.

Another Milestone (12/2/2015)

I just reached 10,000 views.

135 hubs published (over 90% featured).

Over 1400 comments.

Level V commenter.

Milestone 1/22/2016 (150 hubs, 140 Featured))

Number of Views: over 11,600

Number of Comments: over 1500

Number of Follows: 42

Hub Score: 82

Some Analysis...

In analyzing the data, I need to make some assumptions. I assume it takes me an average of 3 hours to create 1 hub. In 100 hubs, that amount to 300 hours.

A total of 6000 page views in 11 months with 1300 comments. If I take away from 6000 the 1300 comments and approx. 300 views by myself (assume 3/hub), I end up with 4400 page views by readers. If an average reader spend 3 minutes per hub, that would be 13,200 minutes or 220 hours.

The ratio of my time vs. reader time is 300 to 220 or 3:2.2.

An average of 20 views per day for the year but increased recently to 80 views per day.

84% featured hubs. (84 out of 100)

Here are my groups and the number of hubs:

Reflections...

Having been on Squdioo for 6 years before migrating to Hubpages, I must admit the transition has been difficult at first. Many of my lens did not port completely and many of the embedded images were lost. It took a while but I adapted and started to embrace Hubpages. I have created many more hubs and found the process very easy and smooth. Having had a few hubs that was not featured, I learned quickly what is expected as good practice and have had no problems since. The "one day" delay policy before publish is something different from Squidoo but understandable. Going forward, I hope to continue publishing. My goal is to create at least one hub per week.

If you read some of my hubs, you will recognize a common theme. I tried to help others by way of information. Whether it is about vacation places or financial situations or fixing governance or new technologies or religious subjects or even sports, my goal is to share my knowledge and opinion. Leave it up to the readers to agree or disagree.

With regard to comments on my hubs or other hubs that I've come across, the theme is to challenge ideas that are contrary to my beliefs and to correct inaccuracies and to learn from others. I am a student of history. I believe we can learn from our history. In order to do that, we must preserve the accuracy of historical events. My volunteering activities include helping to preserve the local history of Westchester County NY.

A Personal Triumph

I want to acknowledge a personal triumph with the help of my hubpage. Recently, I had experienced a failure with a storage shed I had purchased and assembled. When it collapsed after a few month, I contacted the manufacturer. I received little satisfaction. I decided to contact the Better Business Bureau. They were very receptive to my case and decided to move forward. The manufacturer would not admit to a defective product. I decided to create a hubpage documenting my experience. I forwarded the information to the BBB and I received notice that they are re-opening my case. I don't know what will be the outcome but I already have satisfaction that my experience was validated by some other customers who have gone through the exact same experience.

What's Next?

I am inspired to continue publishing. I do recognize that my writing style could use some improvements. Sometimes, I found I don't quite have the right words to describe some ideas. Perhaps I will take up a writing class. I will continue to follow some of my interests including AGW theory, Artificial Intelligence, the Human Brain, Solar Energy, Commercial Drones, Self Driving Vehicles, Economic Metrics and Intelligent Design. The possibilities are endless.

Another Milestone (May 13, 2016)

Summary

I want to thank all my fellow hubbers and others that have come to my hubs for some info and wisdom. I have also learned quite a bit from all of you. Reading and writing are two of my passions. I'm glad to be on Hubpages and living in America - Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!

Cheers!
