Need A Better Hubscore? Think Macro-economical

Updated on October 8, 2012

Writing and earning from it online can be taxing. One wonders how much content will generate appreciable income. Some get confused between the quality and content ratios. As more time passes the confusion increases.

Personally, when I began to write I had no idea that I would earn anything at all but after Nine months and some amount of content I can confidently say that…. Yes… you can earn.

Writing on hubpages is comparatively easier than writing on other sites. I say this because:

· You get the simplest editing tools here.

· Uploading images is a lot easier and faster.

· The Accounting of income is accurate and the scope is vast

1. Hubpages Ad Program gives you greater time to work on content as you do not need to devote time editing your ad settings for each article.

2. Easy to put eBay and Amazon capsules : just click and drag

· But the most important reason is the personal analysis methods hubpages provides namely

- Hubscore

- Accolades

- Followers

- Current Views

- Ideal and Active Hubs

- Daily, weekly, monthly and all time earning audits etc.

Of all these facilities the Hubscore plays a vital role in establishing the overall class of a hub-author

Many people stay confused about the Hubscore and a low one tends to generate a lower confidence level in them. I stayed confused about mine for months until I figured it out.

How did I figure it out?

I RELATED IT TO A BIT OF BASIC MACROECONOMICS

That is the basic rules of demand and supply across global economics

Consider the price of a product as the Hubscore and the article, I mean, your content as the product:

1. When The Supply Is High

In this case the market is flooded with your product making it easily available or easily seen and hence bought.

When you right a high amount of content you seem to keep coming up in searches thus your value will automatically increase and so will your Hubscore.

2. When the Demand is high

When the demand is high for quality content that it, your page is visited a lot, you have a large following which means a large readership… your value propels and so does your score. The 90-100 pointers have at least 3000-5000 views per month!

3. When the supply is low

When you write less amount of content or write irregularly then the search engines do not record much from you. Your views slip and so does your demand and your Hubscore falls.

4. When the demand is low

This means your content may be high but its quality might be low because people do not connect to it and thus your value goes down… sending your Hubscore and your confidence down.

Here is a table showing various Hubscore trends and the corresponding author characteristics to make it clearer:

From the above four points I came across some conclusions which have helped me so far… I hope they help you too:

1. Write Regularly

Aim at writing one hub a day or one in two days. This keeps you on the charts for the search indexes and you maintain your value. Plus, writing daily increases your content and the practice increases your quality.

2. Read Regularly

I suggest that you take half an hour daily to go through articles by other authors. Reading and commenting is a healthy marketing strategy and makes you visible to the online community. People take you seriously and notice you. It will take a while but trust me it happens.

3. Yearn to earn accolades

Accolades have multiple benefits.

- they boost your self confidence

- your page looks impressive

- your influence grows

- your value increases

- Gives a lasting first impression

4. Follow People

A strong network is as important on the net as in real professional life. Following newbies and veterans helps you earn a respectable identity in the community and increases your influence.

5. Share

When you share others’ work on pages like facebook and twitter the biggest beneficiary is you yourself. You earn respect in the online community. On the technical front you create back-links to your own page. When a article shared by you is viewed and it earns… a share of the earning reaches you too! The more you share the more you earn…. Money, respect and influence!

I hope this article helps all of you in some way. The bottom line is that to think in the most basic of ways. Online writing is a technical thing. But there is a basic concept behind every complex structure.
