I often hear people saying HubPages is a blogging site. For those who are wondering if this is correct, the answer is HubPages is not a blogging site. HubPages is a place where you can post your article online, to be read by people around the world and to earn side income from it. Another word, you can create articles (called as hubs) regarding any topic you like from how-to’s to family matters. Creating a hub is similar to creating a blog entry and it is extremely user-friendly.

However, the fact is that you got to get a lot of successful clicks with Kontera before you can see any nice earning from it. I am not sure of the rest but I am getting very less clicks with Kontera. However, it is always great as an addon income generator.

5. Referral program

I love the part where you wil get 10% of your refer's ads income. 10% might not be much but in the long run, it is indeed a very well and great source of income.

Until date, I have a couple of Hubs that rank well in search engines and I am glad to see the constant traffic flowing in on daily basis. 

There are debates on the topic if HubPages page rank has effect on your hubs. In my opinion, I strongly believe it will have some effects on our articles. However, it also depends on our own as hubs with quality will slowly but surely getting more traffic.

At HubPages, you get acknowledgement if you are active. Personally, I love this as we all love acknowledgement. You will be awarded with Accolades which are badges. You can simply earn them by reaching certain number of fan, being active in forums or simply by posting more hubs over a period of time.

The best part has yet to come. There are fan mail section where you can show off to others what you fans are saying to you such as “You are hot” and “Great Hub”. Basically, HubPages allows writers to have their own fan club. Fans are also known as followers at here.
