How boring

Does someone with 160+ featured hubs really need this notice?

A link to your Hub: How to control a gun. Yes this is real "gun control"

Dear Ericdierker,

We wanted to let you know that How to control a gun. Yes this is real "gun control" has the opportunity to become Featured! Now I had to break this up so it was not duplicate Featured Hubs are showcased on Topic Pages and Related Hubs listings. They are also made available to search engines. Well I got news for you, search engines pick up my unfeatured hubs also. We want your Hub to succeed and strongly recommend dusting it off and making a few improvements so that it meets our quality standards. Quality metrics are not the same as quality standards and the is the end of that story.

The perks of a Featured Hub don't end at increased visibility online. No they do not and they do not even start there because non-featured hubs can earn and get just as many views. Featured Hubs are likely to be more successful over the long run when it comes to traffic, earnings, and augmenting your personal online brand. This is just not true, it depends on your networking and your skills to enable you to drive traffic, being featured is less than ten percent of that ability.

I could be wrong on that percentage but not by much. Google does not have switch that gets turned on because of "featured status".

How can you improve your Hub? High-quality Hubs are original, long form, and media rich. Why do not they tell you what is wrong with your hub? Because these are computer generated letters being prompted by metrics and not people. For starters, check out our Learning Center entry on How to Improve the Quality of a Hub for detailed tips, helpful links, and before/after example Hubs that demonstrate the power of editing!

Thank you for taking the time to update and improve your work! Improve work is based on a computer generated model that is making hubs all look and feel the same.

Cheers,
The HubPages team What is the matter with corps these days do they really think we think that this letter was generated by a member of a team? Please!

Seriously they demand more and offer less.

Who cares any more about featured hubs? This platform is growing stale and we are losing good writers and not attracting new one.

Did it ever occur to HP that most people like an article around 600 words and not 1200? Sorry but I am seeing filler garbage by good writers that should stop at around 800. And I am seeing totally irrelevant repetitive photos by the score and polls that make no connection to the article and adverts that must be from a whole different planet just to fill quotas.

And I look up HP on Alexa and it is slipping not improving.

But some yahoos come around and say more editing - which means censoring will make it all better. What they are really saying is "would you please knock out great writers because they compete with me". Have no doubt that people who come around saying that we should have higher standards are advocating for standards that fit their articles and not the competition.

Sorry but that last Hub by Larry Wall was spot on and all the blue haired cheerleaders around here cannot change the fact that HP is losing it's competitive edge in favor of PC censorship.

I do not like Beiber but I am smart enough to know that he sells big time and fills stadiums big time. And his art is too repeat a few quotes over and over again! But our blue haired censors know better?

Wake up management or get some fresh new blood to push our cutting edge dynamic contributions.

At this point why would Google and Yahoo go to HP? For boring articles that rehash pictures and repeat themselves four times in the same article? Mucho Problemo mi amigos.

Does putting in a poll add to this hub?

Do you ever really look at polls on hubs, be honest?

This is one of my favorite photos

I hope it gets my point across here. Content is missing but a capsule is filled.

Preemption right now!

I love America and I love HP and I love my household. But that does not mean I sit around all day glorifying them and blowing smoke where it do not belong.

Here we are vigilante to make sure and stand fast for quality and to protect this great platform. But without intelligent writer critical contribution we shall surely lose more great writers and continue to slide down on scores like Alexa.

We are losing our good people and we need them. HP is a business I do not want to see fail.

And based on my criteria which I am sticking too I am very successful here and there are not any sour grapes here. I am very happy with this system for me. But it is going to crash and burn if it stays this course of conformity versus unity.

I cannot say why but this song struck me as appropriate here.
