Trusting Your Feelings

Updated on January 26, 2010
My grandfather along time ago told me, boy, you need to trust your gut feelings. When first told this, I didn't understand what he meant, but later in life about 20 years later, I started to realize what those words meant. Ever have the feeling that something bad was about to take place in your life and your inner feelings were telling you to do something besides let the bad event overwhelm you and take you for a fool. Well, many times this has happened and being the human that I am, I did not listen to instinct or that angel spirit talking to me telling me, watch out. So the bad just came and it took a while to process what had happened. As I get older, I'm finding out that this innerself defense mechanism has really good intuition and it is in my best interest to listen to it, process the information and do something to avoid the crisis that is about to befall me. I've learned that if I focus on the What would God want me to do factor, these incidenses are easier delt with. It is my hope that someone out here can relate to this and comment or share their thoughts on this. God loves me and I can now see how He does, by the way prayers are being answered. I like to call this happening, Divine Intervention!

You are so right about that gut feeling you get, a warning within your soul, spirit, and mind. That defense mechanism is a gift from GOD! GREAT HUB Artin2010. Love you!

Thanks for your comment. I truly believe in the Divine Intervention element. I too have seen many prayers answered in the last 10 years. He meets our needs at every plea, every time. Jesus Christ IS the only answer to all of life's problems. Love is indeed from Him to us and for us to share. Blessings!

Artin2010, This is an insightful hub! We can not change anything that has happened but one can surely go forward with the Lord! You are on the right road...

As you stated: "I've learned that if I focus on the What would God want me to do factor, these incidenses are easier delt with. It is my hope that someone out here can relate to this and comment or share their thoughts on this. God loves me and I can now see how He does, by the way prayers are being answered. God does love you and always has because He is love! He loves us so much that He does not force us to be robots, but allows us to chose! As we begin to listen and embrace His principles we make better decisions... This is why we ALL need Jesus Christ as our personal SAVIOR! Thank you for sharing, Blessings!

I learned to trust myself and my instincts more the less and less young I get.

Art, your words are full of wisdom's sense; but I am not the one to reiterate your opinion;but I do share the general notion that the God term stands for what is thought to be the civil attribute of our being existence spirit.

The human conscience is our tool for God thought... You might want to read ~ My Letter From Beyond- A Poetic Memory https://hubpages.com/literature/My-Letter-From-Bey... its the best explanation I have come across that describes conscience thought.

The affinity of thought is as the feather it gathers together given the opportunity desire, emotion and will to perfect our lot in existence...

God speed my friend on your journey course and path...
