What HubPages Will Mean To Me

Updated on July 20, 2009

HubPages Will Give Me Access To The Entire World

I guess I figured a good first hub for me would be to let everyone know really what HubPages will mean to me and what I will be working on within the walls of HubPages. Im not even bothering to try and figure out any keywords or anything for theis first hub. Even though I am knew to HubPages I have known the benefit for a long time.

As an affiliate marketer you would have to have been buried under the sea to not heard of HubPages. The problem with me is I didnt want to get involved until I knew I had a certain amount of time to commit. Well that time has come so here I am.

Of course HubPages will help me in affiliate marketing but I assure you I am not like a lot of marketers. I am not here to spam the pages. However I will talk a little more about that in a minute.

Anyways thank you for having me here and I look forward to a long relationship with a lot of good people.

20 Years In The OilPatch

You will eventually find a lot of hubs from me about working in the oil patch. This year is my 20th anniversarry in the patch and I thought it was time to share some stories and knowledge outside the patch.

I will work very hard to keep anything I talk about easy to understand. I will try and keep things on the low down and not get too technical.

I have worked several jobs in the patch thus giving me a look at the industry from several points of view. I will always be open to discussion on any of the hubs I write and will always be open to suggestions.

I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience to the people of the outside world who have always wanted to know but were not quite sure who to ask.

Freshwater Fishing Is My First Love

If I had to choose one thing in the world I could do it would be fishing. I dont know how many times I could say I love fishing but no matter how many it wouldnt be enough.

I am 42 years old and have been fishing since I was 3. I know this will be a fun topic to Hub on. I have a lot of knowledge of freshwater fish, gear, tackle, boats, equipment, locations and a lot more. The couple drawbacks is all my knowledge is from Canada and I know very little about deep sea or ocean fishing.

The thing is it doesnt really matter if its in Canada or not because catching a bass, walleye, pike, perch, trout or whatever really at the end of the day works the same all over the place.

As for the ocean fishing. Im sure I could read up on it and make some great hubs but I say why not leave that one to the experts. Trust me when I say there is enough to write about in freshwater fishing that I will never run out of topics or information.

What I Have Learned About Affiliate Marketing

I know you guys see this and you think oh great another spammer thats going to be spamming every new product that come out.

Im pleased to tell you that is not me. I do well in affiliate marketing but I am different. I personally cant stand the gurus that on a daily basis are promoting the latest greatest product or program. I am different.

My goal on HubPages and affiliate marketing is to help others who are struggling. I will build a series of training hubs that anyone will be welcome to use. I will show both free and paid ways to make money. I will recommend both free and paid tools, but only if I have used them and completely believe in them.

My hubs will include easy website building, list building, autoresponders, clickbank, affiliate programs, email marketing and so much more. You will see me put a lot of focus on article marketing because in all honesty that is my passion.

So please dont be scared to look at my affiliate marketing hubs. I think at the end of the day you will be quite surprised.

The World Is About Safety

Well, last but not least I will be hubbing on safety. I currently hold several tickets and have taken years of training and I think my safety hubs could be a great addition to HubPages.

I will be talking about all kinds of safety such as workplace safety, home safety, food safety, child safety and personal safety. Safety is everyones responsibility but to be your responsibility you also need knowledge.

I will definately not be making these hubs to Hard. I will attempt to add a ton of humor but be very serious when the need be.

I will alos be adding several pictures and videos and I think many of you will be lost when you see how dumb some people can be when ot comes to safety.

I will strive to make these hubs as educational as possible while still having fun.

The End Of This Hub For Now

At the end of the day I wrote this hub to keep me accountable. Everyone can see the promise I have made and thus give me a kick in the butt if I go off track.

I loved building this hub and can already see a lot of my hubs in my future. Navigating around here so far has been nothing more than doing up a button on a shirt.

I have read many a great hubs in the last little while and I strive to be just as good if not better than most of the great hubbers here. Anyways thats it for now.

Hope you enjoyed

Cheers!!

P.S. Did you notice I didnt even put in a link to my website. Thats part of my commitment. I will be linking my site but only when its appropriate.

Thanks for the comment Salt. I have swayed a little in what I am doing but not a lot. HubPages is proving to be better than I thought in so many ways

thankyou.. Your mission statement is clear and easy to understand. I can see why you are a good communicator and hubber. I might use this as a framework to understand what I actually want to achieve out of hubpages. I did start, to learn how to use internet publishing and it has been great for that.

I need to improve my content and then pick a few topics to develop.... thanks.. see youve helped already!!!

Nope, not here to spam. Will do a little promotion now and then. I do however feel like I'm fitting in and I thank the great people of HubPages for that.

Thanks for the comment and thanks for stopping by

Welcome to HubPages Dale (a bit belatedly). I'll be interested in reading your affiliate marketing stuff. I have two eBay affiliate sites - a belly dance and a flamenco one. They're minority niches that I don't expect to make a lot of money on, the subjects are my favourite hobbies so the sites are a pleasure to maintain. Maybe one day I'll use the knowledge I'm gaining to actually make some real money!

What are you doing for page views. Personally I really do not pay attention to page views at first because I know they are views from within HubPages. Not that I dont appreciate those views but we all know the money views are going to come from SEO traffic and that doesn't usually happen overnight.

Thanks for stopping by and I will be publishing a lot more once I am done with my personal issues

I'll be looking forward to it. My first two hubs got more than 75 views and after that i've gotten less than 25 on each of my other hubs. I'm itching to find out why.

Thank you so much for the comment.

I took a look at your website and do have some suggestions that I think would help.

Feel free to send me an email if you would like to talk.

Unfortunately I wont be around much this weekend due to the fact that my son is graduating.

I will however be back in full force come Monday.

Hello, and we are already enjoying your style!

We joined Hub pages as a way of improving our writing for the Internet. Like you, we have a website (and try not to spam) but it is hard to get quick feedback from a website. We have found Hubpages a good way to guage which subjects attract interest.

We are sure that you will find other Hubbers very supportive and helpful, so long as you are nice to them!

Although we are not really into fishing, we do like your photo. It grabs attention!

Welcome to hubpages! I, like Connie above, am also very ignorant about affiliate marketing and can use all the help I can get. I hope you have as good a time here as I have been having. HubPages is a wonderful group of people!

Welcome to hubpages, Dale. I am looking forward to reading your hubs as I am sadly ignorant in the ways of affiliate marketing and all that other stuff you mentioned. Please, please make it easy for kindergarteners to read. That is currently my educational level in all things internet. Um...make that pre-school, will you? You sound like a nice person and a great addition to hubpages.

Well Dale. Kudos to you. Now, I don't want to hear none o' that shit. I want the fun wild stuff I know you have hidden within the deepest recesses of your soul. Barring that, I will support you. I used to love freshwater fishing too, but als, my health went south with my peener and quit that too. So I right a bunch of crap for fun, and I paint, naked womens. So have fun whilst here and stay out of the religion forum. Also use your Wod doc. to write your hubs then copy paste or you might lose them while editing online here, and use that spell checker thingy too. See ya round worm.
