Writing For Money

What is a freelance writer?

Before I explain why you should write for money, I want to first explain what a freelance writer is. A freelance writer is a writer who is self-employed. Freelance writers are payed to write specific assignments for newspapers, websites, magazines, or just anyone who is willing to pay for professionally written content. There are many writers who make a great living this way and prefer it to working for someone else. That being said, freelance writing can be any form of writing that you are being payed to write. This includes articles, brochures, newsletters, stories or whatever it may be that the client specifies. Payment terms are usually negotiated directly or already set if your writing for a website.

Why is writing for money becoming so popular?

Many people nowadays are searching for new ways to make money that doesn't include leaving the house, or working for a boss. This is understood do to the ever rising gas prices as well. Imagine working for yourself, making money from it, being able to stay in the comfort of your own home and afford it too. Being a freelance writer, you can achieve this and more.

What are some of the benefits of writing for pay?

Pursuing a career as a freelance writer is not by any means, easy. But, for those you put in the hard work, they will reap the great benefits that every self-employed person dreams about. These benefits include:

  • Flexible work schedule (set your own)

  • Write what you want to write. You are your own boss.

  • Earn as much as your willing to work for.

  • Once you have established a name for your self, you will almost never be without work.

  • The best benefit of all, a passive income.

What is a Passive Income?

A nice passive or residual income is the ultimate goal for many self-employed freelance writers. A passive income is a consistent income that takes minimal efforts to maintain. This is when all of your writing pays off and you can sit back and watch the money roll in every month. Now, I know what your thinking. How is doing freelance odd jobs considered passive? Well, it's not. That is were the freelance sites come in such as Hubpages or Squidoo.

What do these sites have to offer?

There are many great freelance sites available to write for. Many writers choose to write for sites such as these in hopes of one day being able to generate a passive income. Many sites like Hubpages, will pay writers a percentage of the advertising revenue that there article brings in. Other freelance site will pay writers upfront, or at a flat rate for their work. Why you shouldn't give up

I know that it can be very depressing to look at weeks or months of continuous work and still no results. This can be very intimidating. A lot of writer's give up on their goals early in and quit with the belief that you can't and won't make any money. There are those that will put in the hard work but simply don't have the patience. Like I said, this is not easy. But, and that's a very big “but”, for those who push through that sticking point and keep your goals in mind, good things will happen. Yes, there is a lot of time to loose, but what you gain in the end highly makes up for it. Think about it. A year or two really isn't that long. Winter, Summer, Winter, Summer right? And a lot of the writers who have been successful have only been writing for that short amount of time. I'm going to end this with this. DON”T GIVE UP. That is for those of us who plan on a better financial future. Let's help each other get through this. You really can do it. Don't give up.

These are some hubs that give me inspiration every time I read them. Enjoy
