Here's Why

Why be a part of HubPages? Why not be a part of HubPages! There are numerous reasons to write and post and read and question and answer and debate and reason via HubPages!

The fella depicted above may not appear to have anything to say, but that's just because he's busy spouting some blank verse. I, on the other hand, have never been accused of having nothing to say (sometimes quite to the contrary, in fact). And having something to say, and the strong desire to say it, is perhaps the most basic need being filled by participating in HubPages. You may find that your partner or children or co-workers may not be inclined to listen to your thoughts and opinions, but you are quite likely to reach someone receptive to those thoughts and words via HubPages. You may find yourself caught up in a gratifying exchange of ideas, or a stirring debate (or sometimes a flaming argument). But that's not the only reason to get involved.

A Few Good Reasons

While writing for HubPages, you are quite likely to learn something new and interesting. I find that whenever I start writing I think I actually know a good deal about, my fact-checking and background review always teach me far more about the subject at hand. As a result, I've learned lots of history, geography, trivia, science, engineering, astronomy, popular culture and even vocabulary, just from my HubPages experiences.

As suggested above, if you spend time verifying the background and facts of what you are writing, you will also be conducting a decent amount of raw research. And that almost always facilitates you becoming a better reader, comprehender, researcher, and, eventually, writer. You work will become better, and will thus be more highly valued by your readers.

More Reasons

Whether you realize it or not, every time you publish a well-researched and well-written HubPages article you are educating someone (even if only yourself). I have had many readers comment on the knowledge they have gained from my many diverse articles. You will receive such feedback too.

As you research, read, write, and review and respond to comments on HubPages, you will begin to increasingly explore your creativity. After all, perhaps the very best way to become creative in reasoning and writing is to keep doing them over and over.

And Still More Reasons

As you ramp up your writing and creativity, you will find yourself becoming a more effective advocate. Whether you are promoting clean water, special occasion muffins, trash recycling, innovative needlework, snowboarding tricks, or zip-line safety (or any other subject you wish), you will become more persuasive and convincing.

You will also be likely to join — a group of similarly interested individuals, a club, a team, a profession, a hobby or a pastime. Even if you merely join all the other Hubbers out there, you will be part of a new group, one that is very likely to make your life a bit richer.

You will find that you can more readily and more often celebrate: whether anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, life changes, historical events, or simply the enjoyment of sharing cute kitten pictures. You will be more connected to the larger world out there in more interesting ways.

Ultimately, you will be able to share part of what makes you unique and valuable with others — and that my be the most positive aspect of Hubbing of all.
