How to join Hubpages and start earning money online.

A few years ago I joined Hubpages and write articles ("Hubs") in my spare time, on subjects that I am interested in, and they earn me money every single month.

How? Well, companies want to advertise on the internet and pay people like you and me for allowing them to display their advertisements on our articles ("Hubs").

Hubpages provides the facility for you to write articles and make money from advertisers and it is FREE to join.

Hubpages is a great way to earn Passive Income each month. Once you have written your Hub and allowed adverts to be placed on it, it can earn you money each and every month. That is passive income. The more people that read it, the more money you make.

The amount you earn is based on the number of people who read your articles (Hubs). As a general rule of thumb, for every 1000 people who read your Hub, your Hub earns an average of between $3 to $8.

As an example, one of my articles gets 100 views a day - every day. So, every 10 days, it earns about $3-$8. Over a year that is at between $110 - $175. It is a popular article that should continue to earn that amount every year .

• Do you have a hobby that you are knowledgeable about? For example, one of your hobbies could be fishing, so your first article (Hub) could be as simple and general as "How to start fishing" or more specialised such as "Salmon fishing in Scotland". If others share your hobby, you can bet that they are looking up information online about it.
• An article about something you love, such as your favourite band, favourite restaurant, favourite place to go on holiday.
• If you enjoy creative writing you can write a short story or poetry.
• A product review - if you have recently bought a product, such as a new washing machine, you could write a product review about it.
• Articles based on your life experiences which you think others may find useful, such as "10 Time Management Tips".

The key is to write good quality Hubs on topics that people want to read about.

To help you find popular topics, I recommend using a free online tool called "Adsense Keyword tool". This tool has been created by Google and is free to use.

You can find it online by typing in Adsense Keyword Tool into a search engine.

When you have found it, you simply type in phrases such as "How to start fishing" and it shows you how many people are typing that phrase into the search engines each month. These phrases are also known as "Long Tail Keywords". You can type in as many phrases as you want.

The aim is to try to find a phrase with at least 3000 views a month (This is 100 views a day). When you have found a popular phrase, write a Hub around it.

• By placing E-Bay products on your Hubs.

A final way is by encouraging other people to join Hubpages. You earn 10% of the amount their Hubs earn.
