How to change size of pictures

Are there ways to control the size of the pictures? Sometimes, I'd like to have them smaller or larger or more square instead of a rectangle. Is there something we can do before uploading?.

Hi Catherine. Are you asking about using photos from somewhere on the web, or your own photos?

I have several different sizes of photos that are my own, that I edit to the sizes that I want to use.

I think that if you go into Photoshop or Paint and create a square, say, 3000 x 3000 pixels...and then reduced your original image by as much as you want...and place it in the blank square you've created, that would essentially give you a smaller image framed in white.  There may be easier or better ways, but I think that would work.  I've considered it myself.

Hi #CatherineGiordano.  I used to ensure the pics I intend to use are resized to an approximate size I want, but found that this does not work on hubpages.

When I had small pics it expanded them [I used the right aligned half pic space] and thus they became pixilated.

It seems to me that the sizes are pre-determined.

Use Pixlr Express (type in Google should send you the result). Really simple to use.

I hadn't heard of "Pixlr Express" before. Looks like fun to use. Thanks.

The guide to photos in the Learning Center covers everything about pictures on the site, not just taking pictures.
