    How is the score next to the profile name calculated?  What does it mean?

    I see it all them time and I can't make sense of it.

    The hubber score is calculated by Hubpages based on the number of views of your profile (the most important), the quality of your hubs, the length of the article, the usage of photos, videos, your hubtivity (how active you are on Hubpages) etc. There are a lot of useful info in the help section so check it out. BTW, considering your time here on Hubpages, your score is great. Don´t be worried if you see your hubber score varying - going up and down for a few numbers -  it is only normal.

    I'm convinced that no calculation other than your time on the site is used in determining your score.  I joined the same day as another hubber.  In a week her score has risen the same 20 points that mine has. 

    She has:

    Posted 1 hub
    Answered no questions
    Not participated in forums
    Given no feedback on hubs
    Done literally nothing

    I have:

    Posted 10 hubs to good reviews
    Answered several questions
    participated in forums
    Given feedback
    Done literally everything

    yet somehow we have gained the exact same hubber score.  wtf
