There are a few things you can do
1) Write good balanced articles - as many as you can without compromising the quality
2) Publicise your work - post your links on other sites like facebook, twitter, bebo, digg.
2) Join forums wherer possible and participate - be sure to have your links visible in your profile and in your signature.
3) Add your url to your signature in emails
There are others, but for a beginner I say you should start with these. DON'T go onto forums and spam people - that will just annoy people. It is better to make a useful contribution.
You can also make friends on hubpages and ask them to visit your site - but that is not a good way if you want to make money. External traffic is they key.
