Yes, i did try it out. Depending on what your webpages have on them, etc., you may not get accepted by the affiliate programs. I had simply an affiliate marketing site, and was rejected by most of them.
Yes I am signed up in it and I keep getting requests to publish ads for merchants that have nothing to do with my business, so I turn them down. I would only use ads that relate to what I do. There doesn't seem to be any control over it. I believe it is only in beta test.
By the way, the Google Affiliate program is only for those who have their own website.
