If I want a website that can handle hundreds of visitors and possibly thousands of visits a day, what kind of shared webhosting service do I need?
I'm also interested in the least expensive options.
I use GoDaddy for my websites. Haven't had any major problems yet, their customer service is the BEST and they're staffed up 24x7!!
I like Hostgator and dreamHost
Godaddy was great for customer service- hostgator has proven equally helpful and interactive
Another vote for Hostgator. Very responsive and inexpensive.
Godaddy or Namecheap for domains.
edit: also you should go to fatwallet.com and search for godaddy coupon codes. Not sure if they have anything for hostgator, but you can get unlimited hosting for a year for less than $10/mo. if you prepay the year.
