    Is it possible to sell or transfer your hubs to another member on hubpages?

    Is it allowed by Hubpages? Should one be able to sell their hubs to another user if they no longer want to maintain a profile on hubpages?

    I could see it being possible to transfer an account to someone else, but I do not know if that is allowed under hub page agreements. I believe it states that the writing is supposed to be your own or attributed to the source.

    Think of it like this;

    You have a World of Warcraft account which you decide you want to sell to someone else because you just don't want to play the game anymore. Well technically you don't own the account nor do you own the items on the account they all belong to Blizzard, you are only paying to use a service and if you sell that account to make money you will have that account closed and the person who bought it will be out of money.

    The samething applies to hubpages, you don't own your account just the writing you did. So you couldn't sell the account because it would violate the hubpages TOS and if you sold your work to another person on hubpages than they would end up having those hubs marked are copies of your hubs because they are still cached in google and under your name. The person than who bought your hubs would end up getting in a ton of trouble for copyright and you would walk away with the money and they would end up having their account closed or banned.

    You could, but it's not a straightforward transaction like on Squidoo.  There are plenty of people here who buy copy from ghostwriters, so that type of transfer is possible.  You also could sell the contents of an entire account, and once the new owner had access, they would need to change all the affiliate codes to their own.  They'd also have to meet all the conditions stipulated in the TOS regarding ownership and identity, etc. or they could find the new account banned.

    HubPages doesn't encourage this type of behavior and the website construction impedes it somewhat, but it could be done.  This question most often comes up when someone dies (which has happened once to my knowledge) or someone asks if they could pass on their Hubs to their heirs.
