I got an email from hubpages.  'you have a comment' blah blah.  I clicked on the link and found some of the words on my hub had been highlighted.  They were links that I hadnt put in.  I checked my hub via my account and didnt find any of the words highlighted.  Can anyone explain this?  Is it a phishing or spam email?

    This is my hub.

    http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Fox-Hunter- … s-Survivor

This is a link from the hubpages email reminder...

    http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Fox-Hunter- … nt-1982608

Can you see the highlighted wording and how it differs?

    Thanks for your help x

---You have two titles to your Hub if you notice when you publish them, second is with numbers given by Hubpages. I am positively sure, that's what it is.

Are you sure they're not Kontera ads, or whatever they are called? I noticed that in one of my hubs and when I rolled my mouse over the linked word a little pop-up came on with an ad in it.

Yes!  That is exactly it!  Is it direct market targeting at me?  Does anyone else get this?

Im not signed up to Kontera, don't know anything about it.  Any enlightenment?

      Thanks for your reply, btw.

p.s. I cant understand why the link hasnt shown up.  It is definately there in the email. *confused*

When you start a new hub, a box will be at the top of the editing page. It has several boxes you can check and uncheck, inc. 'view a slideshow' and a few boxes regarding ads. Make sure the box that says "enanle Kontera ads' is not marked if you don't want any of their links on your hub. U don't have to be signed up for it to work, only if you want to benefit from any advertising they do on your hubs smile

I read that it wasnt worth getting set up on Kontera unless you were getting lots of revenue from the traffic to the hubs.  Should I revisit this idea and get signed up?

Again, thanks for your support x

I wouldn't. It takes quite a bit to make any money with it and the links tend to mess with the aesthetics of the hub. If you've ever visited a page set up with Kontera, it's fairly annoying smile

and you should have at least 5 pictures in a hub.

you can have as many, or as few, pictures as you like. You only need 5 or more if you want the option of a slideshow

I've found that unless you're getting at least 10,000 pageviews per month, you may not make the minimum earnings.  Earn less than $5 per month and they won't roll over or even accrue.

However, during the 40% of the time, when HubPages affiliate codes are associated with the Hubs, you may see in-text advertising.  HubPages is actually testing a new service that's not Kontera during their ad share time.
