Can I post success stories of affluent people  from a book and post it here on hubpages?

Or can I post articles from a magazine or book that you cannot find here on net? if not, is it okay if I will just edit it and change some of its words? I really want to post something here on hubpages about finance, business and inspirational stories of successful people. My apologies if you find my question stupid. Please advice.

If you're talking about copying someone else's work and presenting it as your own material, that's a big no-no and will get you banned. So don't do it.

It's still probably not a good idea, but I'm not a HubPages staff member so you're asking the wrong guy

You should post your own original work here on HubPages, and not the work of someone else. You might get by posting a short section from a book if you're reviewing it, but in general, the content of the hub should be your own.

Changing a few of the words and/or simply reorganizing an already published work by another author is still plagiarism. If you do that, not only will you get banned by HP if they discover that's what you're doing, you're leaving yourself open to law suits because you're violating the copyright of the original author.

Now for a friendly suggestion. If you want to write these types of hubs, go ahead and do so, but make them original. Take some notes about the main reasons the person is successful and an inspiration to other people. These should be sparse notes, not a word for word copy of what you're reading. It is acceptable to quote small portions of the article or book (very small) as long as you give credit by mentioning the authors name and the source of the material. Once you give those bare basics, write your hub about how that person has influenced or inspried you at a personal level.
