My hubpage is finally connected to Google Analytics after 3-4 months! Wow! It has taken me forever just to get it connected. My question is this: To receive traffic --> Is is necessary to create campaigns on Google Adwords?
Hi enl1230, I'm sort of a newbie; hence my question...but, by connected to Google Analytics do you mean that you have a Google Adwords account & you're making money?
Hello Shirl,
When you go to My Account, Earnings....there is a list of Hubpages Earnings Program Settings.
One is: Google Analytics
Two is: Google Adsense
Three is: Amazon Program Reports
Four is: Ad Program Reports
=========================
When you first set everything up, you have to wait for it to process for 24 hours. On the Google Analytics, I have been trying to connect it and didn't know what I was doing wrong.
It has two options when inserting your hubpages url.
1. http:// or
2. https://
I had mine connected to http:// which is incorrect. Google can't read it if it isn't connected correctly. It is such a tedious task. So yesterday, I changed it to https:// and Thank God, it finally reads my page!
But, Google Adwords offers campaigns --> You must pay for this. It does create traffic, but I want to know if it is necessary to create campaigns??
I hope this helps you. I am a "Newbie" as well and still learning!!
No, you don't need campaigns on Adwords. Traffic comes from search engines, primarily, and they operate according to algorithms. The only value of adwords for most writers is to check search volumes to see what people are looking for. Advertisers use adwords.
Thanks for commenting so quickly It's still a little greek to me, and I'm not sure I should be worried about it quite yet with only six articles, so I'm working on revamping those & publishing more hubs. I read somewhere that getting turned down by the ad programs was a really bad thing to happen. Uhg...I'll have to set aside a big block of time to read more about the earnings programs, and I'm not too good at tedious stuff either

I don't understand something. If the average time people spend on an article is 4.5 minutes, how can the bounce rate be 90%? Doesn't 'bounce' mean that they just go on the site for a split second and then go off?

Is there a way within Hub Pages to see which articles are only receiving Hub traffic? I try to beef up the low performing Hubs but it would help to know which Hubs have no outside traffic. Or is the score of the Hub sufficient to monitor the lack of Google traffic?

Here goes, when you look at at words, do you look for (when finding for good keyword):1. The most competition or the least?2. Most number of search or the least?I think I am getting a little mixed up here. Hope can get it clear Thanks!
