Incorporating a banner onto my hub

I am fairly new to hubpages and I am wondering whether it is possible to incorporate my own banner (by employing the html code) into my own hub. I want to post a photo that has a hyperlink to my website. So, a visitor to my hub would click on the photo and would be taken to my website. Is that possible on Hubpages? And if so, how can I do it?

    Thank you very much

No, it's not possible. Technically, you could include a photo on your hub and provide a link to your website using the source URL. However, this wouldn't be published as self promotion is not permitted here.
      Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. So, there is no way of posting my own photo in the middle of the text, hyperlinking another website through my photo, which would lead a visitor to that website if/when they clicked on the photo?

As I said earlier, no there isn't. Any HP non-standard HTML, inserted into the capsules, will be stripped.

As Bev has already said, this is a site for writers, not website promotors. The days of cutting corners and getting a free back link from a high PR site are gone...well, from here at least!

The best way of promoting your website here, is a link from your profile page. You then need to pique readers' interest by writing a series of high quality articles.  I had a quick search and you could write on topics such as: How is leather made? How to stretch leather shoes/gloves etc. Are leather boots good for snow? The list is endless.

However, you need to move away from the sort of 'article' that you have written about the gloves. Again, as Bev has suggested, visit the Learning Centre for guidelines.

There is a place to put links to your website on your profile page.

Yes, but I'm looking for a way to incorporate a hyperlink within a photo to another website.

I rather think it will be considered to be self-promotion which is not allowed.

How do you then manage to generate traffic to your website? I'd love to get any comments on how to attract more visitors to my hubs and also generate traffic to my other sites ....

I think you misunderstand what HubPages is about. This is a site for writers, not promoters. It's not for providing backlinks to your own website or business.

We get traffic by writing high quality articles. Your hub on leather gloves is just a selling page. It will be unfeatured and unpublished because HP will see it as spammy.

Maybe pay a visit to the Learning Center, click on Help, top right of any page.

You get traffic the way we all do...by writing good articles that are search friendly.  If you do this, traffic will find you.  Back linking, especially between your own website and HP, will get you banned.

Linking to your own website is considered promotional, which is against the TOS.  It's not even a good idea to place such a link on your profile page, even though some people do it.  Self promotion in any form is frowned on by the team.

Wow, that's a LOT of keyword stuffing. I hope you don't do this on your own website.
