Has anyone had a problem with a traffic exchange on your articles that you did not put there? There is a site called pagereboot that has caused violations to be on a couple of my articles. I have no idea how it got there. I notified HubPages to let them know I did not subscribe to the site.

Yeah. I've had articles on such sites several years ago. I don't think I had any issues about it. It was 5 or more years ago. I know who put the articles there, and the person believed she was doing me a favor.

We all do need to know what to do about something like that.

Thanks, Wesman, for your response. I have been writing for HubPages for 7 years and this is the first time it has happened to me.

I just wish I could tell you something useful other than that it has happened to me too. Hopefully someone on staff will see this.

Wesman, I have alerted HubPages about the issue. I was told that my account is not in jeopardy, and the traffic exchange will fizzle out after a while. I just hate sending those red violations icons beside my articles especially since I know I have done nothing wrong.

That's good then. I think using those sites goes against Google Adsense TOS. I would think that almighty Google would be able to tell if someone were putting their own stuff in such places.

I'm always a bit afraid of how little Google Almighty may actually care about us mere mortals and our work.

The internet is so very full of scams. Well, I guess it isn't unlike the rest of the world we encounter.

Yes, just last week I think almost all my articles were flagged which sent me into a panic thinking they'd all be taken off or I'd be banned.  The little red death skulls disappeared some by the next day and some by the day after but I'm still trying to determine who is "helping" me or knowingly trying to do the opposite.  Do you need any personal info from the individual to sign up for these or can anyone sign up and just send fake traffic any url they want?

Natalie, I had a panic spell as well when I saw those red death skulls on two of my articles. They did disappear in about a week. Another one appeared yesterday. I have been writing for HubPages for over 7 years and this is the first time anything like this has ever happened.

There is no address or phone number on the site for people to contact them. The traffic exchange is pagereboot. After I explained to HP that I had nothing to do with it, I was basically told not to worry about it because it would eventually fizzle out.
