My top viewed article, with 84,000 views, was snipped. They removed every single image in the article. It looked totally boring. They notified me with the usual form letter being very non-specific - it could be for this reason or for that reason. The notice also said it could be de-featured if it doesn't meet their standards and if you have any questions be sure to notify us. So I did. I asked if they could be specific so I could add images that would meet their standards whatever that means. I added new images and wrote them a second time asking if they were suitable.
Their idea of an answer was to send me another non-specific form letter saying it had been snipped again. They did leave up three images. I have had issues in the past with various concerns and they answered me personally and it was very nice. What the heck is going on?
It is YOUR article, of course. If it has been snipped at that age after so many views, then they must be planning to move it to a niche site.
If they do not, put it back the way it was. Sometimes I think they snip my amazon links to spite me. Like someone on the staff just hates me, or something. I nearly always put my amazon links right back where they were supposed to be.
But If I were you, I wouldn't change anything until I knew for sure if they were going to move it, or not.
How about giving us a link to the article so we can look and see what might be wrong with it. Definitely leave in the 3 images they let you keep. However, maybe the images they snipped weren't good enough, clear enough or appropriate enough for your topic.
After writing this I took a quick look at your article about everyday tech problems people encounter and noticed that most of the images are clearly not photographs but rather are cartoon type photos. These usually are no longer acceptable to use, so that may be your problem. I would replace them with appropriate public domain photos that you have edited. That may solve your issue.
The answer is simple. They are under staffed. They cannot respond to every inquiry. Most of the edits are done with an AI system. They have a set formula and snip things that they think are outside of their guidelines for high quality - whatever that is...
I am slso surprised by the snipping of Amazon links. Even when a product is clearly the focus of the article, they snip it. I fon’t get it. Isn’t part of HubPages is to promote sales? And revenue derived from those sales are profits for both HubPages and the writer?
They need to balance revenue with making sure the articles don't break any of the adsence rules. Unfortunately, their editors are not all on the same page due to either experience or training and they do different things with some snipping every single link no matter what, others leaving as many as 11 (yes I saw an article published in the last few months with 11 links) none of which have any indication that the writer had personal experience with them and some leaving multiple capsules in an article while other reject any articles with capsules without feedback that this is the problem. You can just put the links back in and maybe get lucky with an editor that will leave them where they belong. Just make sure they follow all the rules (directly related to the title of the article and content, not self promotional, you have personal experience with the product and describe what this was).
Time traveler, I think you are right. Because the article was presented humorously I had cartoonish images. I am thinking also maybe they wanted fewer images as well. Thanks for taking a look. I think it looks good with the three photographs I chose to replace the former ones and they allowed them to stay.
You might want to consider doing this with any other articles that have cartoon type images. Regardless of how long a hub is published or on niche sites, the team is constantly reviewing them and making changes to create more palatable viewing for readers. Images are very important, so all of us need to take great care when creating and using them.

Do you notice how people read into a questions you post on HubPages?Someone will answer the question as if you need help when in reality the question had no relevance to you personally. For example; "What would life be like if there were no music?" This question does not imply how I...

I've been going through and radically updating lots of old hubs lately. I've found that several of them have been here for a long time with "no notice" on them. I know I'm still protected by copyright law even without that notice, but wouldn't it just make more sense for the...

The new site upgrades (see blog) include a HP copyright notice for authors. Where is it placed? In the far bottom left corner, right at the end of the article. It is in tiny gray lettering that you will need a microscope to see. An example is displayed below. How could this possible act as...

All of us that have visited the question section know that much of the content there is of very questionable quality. It's difficult to see how many of the questions really contribute to the community or discussion on HubPages at all, ranging as they do from mediocre to banal.Of course, there are...
