Hi folks. So I finally opened another account, wrote an article and it is featured on a niche site...Yay! My question has to do with the fact that apparently you can no longer submit your URL to Google. I guess people wanting to submit URL's now have to go through some "fetch" process. Anyone know anything about this? I understand that Google should automatically crawl the niche sites and eventually pick up my article, but how long should it take before I expect to see a result in search? I even typed in "full article name" plus "niche site" (not those exact words, but you know what I mean) No results. Was featured on niche 2 days ago
1: When looking to see if an article is indexed, enter the URL in the search results.
2: Google uses at least 8 global databases, and it takes time for it to index in them all, this is why you may see your new article sometimes and the others it may not show up.
3: On my own personal site, I get new pages indexed in under 4 minutes of me publishing the page. But I use the fetch option as you've already stated. But to do this you need to have access to the Search Console. The new version of the search console does not have the fetch option, but they have the inspect URL option.
4: Since this is on the niche site and HP is not going to individually fetch each new URL, you are going to have to wait until Google re-crawls the niche site category page or the home page when your article is listed on it. Alternatively, Google would crawl the sitemap and find your piece. It could be anywhere from a few seconds (if the bot happens to land on a page of the niche site at the very moment your new article is live and linked to from the page being crawled) after moving to a lot longer - maybe up to a week for the niche sites (just my estimation considering the size of the sites. Bigger sites are usually crawled more often).
EDIT: Every niche site is different and unless the team uses the fetch option, they cannot give you an estimate. Even the employees at Google won't be able to give you a definite answer, because it's all automated.

I love HubPages, I feel that I have learned so much here and my confidence in writing non-fiction took such a huge leap when I was invited onto the Apprenticeship program last year. I have met some wonderful people here - both staff and other Hubbers. But as may other people have said, the idling...

The Googlebot visits new hubs within 30-60 minutes while they are in 'Pending' mode and the NOINDEX tag is in place for 24 Hours. This means that the bot does not index the page, and does not return for days or weeks. New pages do not get indexed for days or weeks. This causes lost traffic and lost...

Unfortunately, both RedberrySky and myself have discovered that some of our content summaries have been scraped from the feed whilst they were in pending mode. I have notified HP, but you might want to check whether any of your content has been scraped....

Have been through confirming Google-indexed-hubs in my HP's account; I had to use the Google search with first paragraph of each hub in a quotation mark. It was a hectic experience and am wondering if there is any other fastest way of doing this- All the same; the results were impressive as all my...

They won't index any of the 40 or so articles I wrote on my blog or even the home page. They say it's low value content. The articles are short, maybe 500 words and some less, but I don't need to go beyond that if I can explain things in few words. If ranking of the network sites falls even...
