I don't know much about how the HubPro Premium works. I have read about it on the HP FAQ's page but I wish to know more from Hubber's who've had their articles worked on.

    What are its benefits?
Has it made any difference in terms of traffic?
Can the article still be updated, say, 6 months down the line? (I try to update regularly).
    Is a snippet guaranteed?

Any other info, good or not-so-good is appreciated.

I am one of those hubbers with negative experience with the program.  I am a horticultural professional so my hubs can be a bit technical.  The editors who worked on them of course did not have my depth and breadth of experience and knowledge so the results ended sounding like an amateur gardening blog.  They also removed critical information or added information that was incorrect.  My advice is that if you are a professional in your field or an acknowledged expert, do not allow the editors to work on your hubs.  If this is true for you, you can ask the team/editors not to touch your hubs.  That's what I have done.

I had the impression that we can’t refuse or opt out.

You are correct. You can't opt out. However, if you save a copy of your article, you can return it to its previous form if you don't like the changes.

My advice: go with it. It's usually a good thing.

I think I’ll just go with it.
            Thanks theraggededge.

This is just my opinion, and there are others that will come on here and tell you that the program is horrible and that they have lost traffic because of it.
In my opinion it is great. They find grammatical issues (things that you may not have seen even after reading several times), improve images, add some info, etc. (I had one done recently that added info that had nothing to do with the title and is available elsewhere in my profile. I just deleted it. HP is fine with that.)
There is no such thing as a guaranteed snippet. HP does not have that kind of power. They will include things in a list format that may make it easier to get the snippet. (I now write most of my articles the same way they have been edited in the past, and many of my new articles are given the snippet almost as soon as they are published.)
You can update immediately or as you like down the road. Some of my articles have been HubPro Premium edited more than once, so there is not a lot to change, but it is still a good idea to edit.
Traffic is almost always improved significantly. I have had a lot of these edited and can only point out one case where traffic has gone down, but that article was being selected by google android and now it hardly gets traffic from that site. I do not know if that has anything to do with editing, but I doubt it.

Thank you DrMark1961. This pretty much answers my questions and gives me a clearer insight into the program.

It depends on the editor. I've had one brilliant one, one okay one, and one not so good who really didn't understand the material.

The first one worked really hard, added lots of new info, checked with me throughout, asked me questions and produced a couple of stellar hubs.

The second one did a good job with the edits, didn't really change much, apart from a couple of images. Didn't keep in contact.

The last one mixed things up and traffic dropped. Not hugely but enough for me to decide to put it back as it was. That hub has since picked up and is performing well. No contact during the editing.

If you get an editor who interacts with you, it's a really good process.

Thank you, theraggededge. This is my first article that's been chosen for the program.

The editor has contacted me twice, the first time to introduce him/herself, and the second time was about what the editing entails. Haven't heard a word since then; no interaction yet.

It's only been a few days though, so I'll see how it goes.
