Should the Niche Site an Article Is On Affect Traffic?
In April, I requested an article be moved from Dengarden to Owlcation. After the move in May, organic traffic doubled for a few weeks compared to the traffic on Dengarden. However unfortunately because of the Google site diversity change implemented last week (possibly), traffic has dropped back down. (The Google change restricts two listings from the same domain for results and there's a similar article on Owlcation, so mine doesn't rank for terms from the title).
Would it have been better to leave it where it was or should it matter? If Alexa is in any way accurate, Owlcation is doing well on search traffic and it is a site that features STEM articles. (My tutorial is a STEM article, but editors strangely placed it in the "Academia" category). I know there is an advantage as regards getting referral traffic from similar articles on the same site, but is organic traffic influenced by the category of site on which an article is located?
When originally written, the niche sites didn't exist and the article was in the "home improvement" category on Hubpages.

Less traffic after moved to niche site?
I pretty much have the same amount of traffic everyday but last week 5 of my hubs were moved to niche sites and since then I've has less half the traffic as normal. What could cause that?

Moving articles OFF HubPages to your own site?
