The definition of reality: competition and Murphy's Law. Wise men have said, "The world is not your friend." They are right. In fact, the competition factor alone makes the world your enemy; it's how nature was designed. And another word for "Murphy's Law" is "entropy"; that, all by itself, is a formidable adversary.

And to revisit competition, Darwin also has an opinion on the subject.

The point is not to get stultified and remember who makes it happen.

I was expecting and am glad you didn't use a certain other word. big_smile

Meanwhile; the more accurate one's perception of reality, the better one's chances for succeeding (or of at least survival).

As an example, I wonder if HP has become aware yet that a certain freight train is heading directly towards them?

The name of the freight train?

I've even written an article on the subject. Nice guy that I am, I didn't mention HP's name.

As for the article, HP is going to have to pay me for the link. They can write me, if interested. I'll give a hint, my website is also tied down on the tracks in front of said freight train. I should also mention I have failed to come up with any sort of solution. In fact, it looks pretty grim and the party is indeed over.

HP has the resources to survive everything listed in the article, excepting for the June update. That June update is what is going to kill them, and they won't be the only carnage. Fun while it lasted.

And I should mention: Maven might survive, if they do the right thing soon enough. It's just HP that will be thrown under the bus. You'll see it coming when their team count starts dropping.
