    Hello dear Hubbers,

I was wondering whether someone could take a look at my profile and see the articles I have already done. It seems to me that they're lacking an obvious connection and may be too far apart in regard to their topics.

In my Bio, I state that I "examine alternative ways of living" and this really is a passion of mine that has many different aspects, right? But, maybe, my articles will not be well-received by my audience because I seem too scattered?

I would love to hear your unbiased and ruthless feedback.

It doesn't make any difference whether you've got an assortment of articles. They are all standalone and the majority of readers will hopefully land on them via a Google search (organic traffic). A miniscule amount of traffic will come from people viewing your profile and then clicking on articles. If you have related articles, you may get a certain amount of traffic from one to the other, so it's important to interlink them.

I was actually going to add a bit about being a guru on a subject, but you covered that for me smile

Bev and Bug have just about nailed it. They're a great duo.

What can I add? Well, first of all - write more articles on alternative ways of living, keep writing and learning and sharpening your skills - learn from successful writers here on HP - go to the Learning Center etc etc and when you've built up a decent stock of articles try for the niche sites. If they're good enough, evergreen, they'll be accepted.

In my experience how to articles tend to do better, visitors like to know how to build things, how to take things apart, what works and what doesn't and so on and so forth.

The trick is to reveal your expertise, experience and passion for the topic you're exploring.

You'll need tons of patience, lots of hard work and tenacity.

It doesn't really matter when you are starting off. You only have three articles so there's no niche yet. Once you have 10 to 20 on the same topic, then you have a niche. Visitors rarely navigate to your profile, they read one article and go off on their web travels. Later, if you get a reputation for covering certain topics, like TimeTraveller2 does with her RV articles, then you may get a following.

The thing is, each article should stand on its own merit and be visible at the top of search engine results for its key terms. So I would say that there's no need to worry yet - you will discover your niche as you go along when you see which of your articles are doing the best.

I tend to cover the same subjects as that I what I enjoy writing about on HubPages. Video games and technology. But I am considering a few other topics as well.

That is the fun to HubPages. I can cover any topic I want (as long it fits on a network website as that is my main goal).
