    Hello Beautiful People
I have read a lot of times on HP that we want you to update your articles regularly.

My question is, when is the best time for making updates? I mean when the traffic falls or after how much time because i have seen a lot of fellow writers on HP, they are pretty old here and don't write much articles now. The articles are written long ago.
But seems like they are going well and still growing.

One more thing is that, why the CPM is very low, Is it normal?
Will the CPM get better with time?

    Please I need suggestions.
    Kind regards

Today if your articles are sitting on HubPages they won't make you any money anymore. You could try and update them and try to get them at least on Discovery or one of the other niche sites.

I'm seldom looking at the CPM but I can imagine them being low because of the pandamic.

10-12 articles are on Letterpile and rest of them are on discovery
I have 42 articles and all are featured

I update articles constantly as I think of new information. Also I edit them frequently so the the text reads better and concepts are expressed in an easy to understand manner. Some articles have been updated/edited maybe a hundred times. If traffic seems to be on a downward trend, I check to make sure no one has copied it elsewhere, and also experiment with different titles. GA is useful for looking at trends of individual articles and seeing how traffic has changed over months or years. The Internet Archive or "Wayback Machine" allows you to check what titles you may have used previously if you haven't kept a dated record of them.
CPM is low at the start of every quarter in a year. So we're in Q1 now and it could take another week or two, maybe until the end of February until it peaks again.

I update all of my articles every year in January because Google gives better ranking to articles that are written or edited during the current year.  I'm a little behind this year because I have so many articles, but my plan is to get them all updated by the end of February at the latest.

I believe that the article should only be updated when you have something important and meaningful to add in it, to update a link withing the article or something of that sort. If your articles are on hubpages it won't make any money, I guess that's also one of the reason that sometimes hubpages asks you to update your article so they don't get taken down from the discover.hubpages and go back to hubpages.com, most of the old authors here are writing articles too, the only thing is that they are now writing less than they used to. Writing articles is the only way to keep yourself searchable to the Google's algorithm. But they're also constantly updating their old articles as well, the reason their old articles are still getting traffic because they're always updating articles with new and valuable information and writing new articles and are writing topics that are evergreen to search for, choosing your keywords wisely is also a trick to increase your traffic (and to the most part your CPM is also dependent on it)

Actually, HubPages staff regularly edit articles on the niche sites in order to have an updated date appear in search results. They go through mine a couple of times a year and make small changes each time.

You've been here 5 weeks!  How can you possibly know the writing habits of people who have been here for years?  At five weeks, you are still learning.  You should stick to learning rather than handing out advice as if you know what your are writing about.

With all due respect, I have started my sentences with either "I believe" or "I guess", non of the sentences are written to offend anyone. I'm not here to tell anyone on how they write or what are their writing habits, all of the points that I gave are based on what I've read on other articles or videos. I agree that I'm a learner but till the time us newcomers don't participate in the forum discussions, how are we going to learn? If there's anything wrong in the statements that I've made that you believe are wrong, please feel free to correct me, constructive criticism is always welcomed.

YourRandomBrother, I agree with OldRoses. She is absolutely right and giving you nice advice. We should first learn and then speak.
New hubbers including me needs to work hard and have to learn a lot to be experienced enough to answer such questions

            Peace and blessings
