For the last two days, my revenue bounced back from the Google fiasco. Amazon sales are up, too. Anyone else experiencing this?

My traffic and revenue are still in the toilet.  CPMs are way down too.

Mine is rollercoastering, up and down. It looks like it's down today. But Amazon is spiking, big time.

No, not really. I have multiple accounts. They're all still in the doldrums. CPMs went up a little in some cases. But traffic is generally as bad as ever.

Interesting. My traffic hasn't totally recovered, but CPMs are up nicely — whatever that means.

CPMs will likely continue gradually rising now, if normal annual trends are followed. So earnings will gradually rise (unless traffic were to fall again) with just a slight dip at the start of October.

But we will earn much less than we would have done if traffic had stayed at Jan - May levels.

Good to know. I wish HP/Maven would tell us their remedy for Google's updates. Though, I have noticed the search engine is not what it used to be after the update. I write for a couple of medical/nutritional sites. What's coming up on the first page is bunk — repetitive medico sites like mayo, Healthline and the ilk. I just dig deeper.

I'm sure they're working on it, but yes, it would be good to get an official communication.

According to SERoundtable, the July Core Update is over. Any (non-seasonal) improvements in traffic are now likely to take a long time. sad

"If you were hit by these core updates, it is about improving your overall site quality over many many baby algorithms or a long period of time."

So, this means it's in Maven's realm. Not ours?

Reducing load speed would help to improve performance and user experience. Maybe they could use different servers, or is the code the problem? Does anyone know of software that will show the file size of images on a webpage, ideally overlaying the size on the image? I've compressed photos on some articles, while maintaining the pixel resolution, however at this stage I can't remember which articles I've done it on.

I am not a techie. So, I assume condensing the images speeds up the load time? You'd think there is a program that can tell you this data.

We should stop talking about page size and stuff like that when the user experience on the niche sites are some of the worst ever with the ads, that dreadful video that apparently gets us revenue (because you are forced to watch it no matter what and there is an ad on it, duh), etc.

Once we have a good user experience or a balance between that and income (which is hard to get) then we can talk about other stuff that does not matter as much.

I have not seen any improvement. Both my views and revenue remain much lower than in the past.

Even Amazon sales are down. I used to have a few Amazon sales every day. Now I see a few days are skipped once in a while with no sales.

Yes, my Amazon sale are in the toilet. July is always bad, but this is on a completely different level of magnitude. The loss in Amazon revenue has been particularly stark for me.

Amazon used to be the only way to make any serious money on here, certainly before Hub Ads. But from Panda onwards, algo updates have made it harder and harder for us.

I had a terrible Xmas for earnings in 2020 and now this one isn't shaping up too great, it seems. sad
