Disclaimer: I'm not here to participate in an editor-bashing discussion. I appreciate creating content that is double-checked by editors and that HubPages has them!
Recently, one of my articles was edited and moved to a network site. I noticed that a relevant video was removed - no big deal but are those perhaps not recommended anymore the way they used to be? If so, I won't bother adding them anymore.
Also, gentle suggestion for the editors, new and experienced here: When you rearrange capsules in an article make sure that the content still flows/is in order. I had to go in and rewrite the endings to capsules because after some rearranging by the editors the article no longer made sense. I don't mind doing this but for the sake of content quality and cutting back on bounce rates, it's something to be mindful of in the future, especially because not all writers go in and check to see that the editing didn't compromise the integrity and readability of the piece.
I've had the same issue on occasion. The decision to remove images or videos appears to be capricious and not of great importance. I recall advice somewhere along the line from HP that including videos increases viewership; how they know that is a mystery to me. So, I'd say keep including videos.
Yes, paragraphs do rarely get moved about so it's incumbent on writers to carefully go over their articles after editing. Editors, like writers, are not perfect.

Please be aware that the high-competition niches you've chosen to create new sites for will be competing with professional websites with professional writers and professional, magazine-level editors and photographers. For instance, your food niche website will need to compete with Food Network and...

This is getting silly. The last few Hubs I updated had all links to other Hubs snipped, even though these links were (a) on the same topic (b) helpful to the reader and (c) pointing to the same niche site. I really try to understand why Amazon links are removed, and I get why links to other sites...

The sad thread about the HubPro edits is long, and this takes the discussion a different direction.Based on what happened to the hub in question on the other thread, there are questions about the contrast in copyright ownership vs 'work for hire.' This site advertises that writers retain...

I update and edit my own Hubs all the time. I proofread, remove and/or write new text, change or add images and videos and evaluate product choices. Typically it takes 15 or 20 minutes, but even the most extensive cases rarely take more than an hour.It seems reasonable that our professional editors...

I'm just throwing this out there. Quality content has been a topic that's been discussed a lot after the whole Google slap shenanigans we've had. With that in mind, I'd like to suggest eventually including an "automated" peer editing service.Essentially, writers opt to...
