So, I came across this on MSN: https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/wed … 99512e474e
This sort of article hardly seems appropriate, nor even valuable to the evergreen authors who make up the disproportionate bulk of content on We Have Kids. Even further, the link to We Have Kids on MSN doesn't even work, at least on my end. Is this person even an author for HubPages?
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for writing some clickbait-tier content every now and again for a quick boost. However, if I'm not mistaken, this sort of content is simply that, a quick boost with no real chance for long-term, meaningful traffic gains? As well, I was made to be under the impression that The Arena Group is paying HubPages-unaffiliated writers a decent sum (somewhere around the $27 USD/hr mark) to generate these sort of articles?
I've been gone for so long that I have no idea what's going on in the community anymore. From what little I can garner with the short amount of time I have to spend here today, it doesn't look like staff is doing much in the way of progressive growth.
Welcome back, Kyler. Please see this: https://hubpages.com/community/forum/35 … s-launched
There's one more forum post related to your query. If I can find it, I'll post it here.
Blessings to you!
I see that others share my same concerns.
I'm only back for a short while to catch up on where the site is heading, my revenue continues to go up on what seems to be my own relevance, but after seeing clickbait on MSN I couldn't help but check in.
Thank you for sharing this with me Misbah, it was enlightening. It's good to see they haven't banned any of my favorite authors.
Quite honestly, it seems like whoever is running the show over at TAG is simply trying to emulate what they see on the front pages of news sites rather than actually knowing what they're doing.
Super concerned about the overall reputation of the niche sites, as following this model regularly runs similar sites into the ground by undermining public trust. Jezabelle is a site that quickly went from super popular, to absolutely loathed by the majority of readers within just a couple of years using this same model.

Is this clickbait "Owlcation news" (see image below) something that should be on the homepage of an educational website? And, right under a quote from Nelson Mandela about how education can change the world?

I decided not to leave hubpages but since my traffic was split in half several months ago it seems as if my subdomain is struggling to get back up.We all know that Google, the internet master, prefers niches sites over content farms (sites with multiple subjects). Given the newest update and...

Interesting article, Tess. Thanks for sharing. I wonder how the change will affect this site.

Only the best Hubs on HubPages are being moved to niches, so everything on the niche sites is spam free and trash free. There are no pieces written in broken English or written in ways that appear to be spun. Everything that's low quality is left behind. Even the ads are high-quality on the niche...

Some of my articles have pages and pages of comments. That in addition to the two pages or so of "Recommended for You" clickbait ads means that it's unlikely that readers would ever see the recommended articles, listed at the bottom. Is there any way these could be suggested elsewhere,...

I have been pleased with the audience and revenue for my articles on HubPages since joining the site some years ago.I commend the company for creating the successful niche sites at a time when similar sites were folding. My existing articles that moved to those sites have done even better than...
