The links on the profile page seem to only go to other hubs, from my experience. Other hubbers have links to other sites. How is this done without using html? Thanks.
Click "edit profile." Type the text as you want it to appear, then highlight that. Click on the linking icon. In the box that opens, paste in the URL for the site that you want to link to. Click save.
I checked out your link, which has an error in the URL: http://hubpages.com/profile/xyz" (The "/profile" does not belong in an address for a hub).
To be sure you get the correct URL, simply visit the page you want to link to, then copy the URL from the address bar.
Thank you. It worked. I have been working on this problem for a week. I think I had trouble following the directions. I kept trying to paste the underlined words for some strange reason. I think another website does linking differently. Is there a way that you copy both the underlined words and the URL?
Indeed, different sites use different linking techniques. Wikipedia, for example, and even the forums here. They link in a fundamentally different way than what we have discussed above.
Some blog editors, for example, let you add (paste) one entry for the URL, then one entry for the text as you want it to appear. But that is not an option here.
The clipboard can only contain one unit at a time. Some people write the whole URL, then highlight and copy that - but it makes for inelegant links.
Anyway, glad to hear that it worked.

Is there anything you don't you like about the new hubpages profile pages?I believe changing over is irreversible and ultimately inevitable for all hubbers but for all those who find change difficult :-) it would be good to hear of any negative observations regarding the new profile pages that you...

I am working on one of my new websites - and I want to link back to my hubs here. How many times is this OK to do on a website page before it is overkill?

I just updated my HubPages profile a couple days ago and in my profile linked to some of my favorite hub topics that I wrote about. Is this bad to do this since on the profile page we have those same hubs randomly come up below? I just don't want overkill but like the thought that I've got my...

After reading another info packed hub from Mark Knowles I note he recommends not using the revenue sharing feature of sites such as Shetoldme and snipsly as your adsense code will leave a 'footprint' for google to see you are creating your own backlinks.See: ...

I was just wondering if anyone ever leaves back links to their profile page on HP. I've really not done it myself, but I can see how leaving back links in hopes of building a higher PR profile page might help pagerank to filter down into individual hubs. But I don't want to do it if it...
