I've been trying to post some data in my hub in the form of a table, but it keeps getting converted to standard text, with the formatting all gone.
A bit more clarification would be good:
-Are you using the table capsule or the text capsule?
-Are you writing the table manually or uploading it from your computer/another site?
Hi and thanks for the reply!
I've been using the text capsule, pasting the table from MS Word. Is there a table capsule as well?
ok... I found it, but am still unable to paste data from the MS Word file on my laptop. All the options it seems to have is
1. Feed data manually.
2. Upload a csv file from the computer.
3. Get data from the web.
I'm stuck again!
Your best option is to copy and paste it into excel, save the excel document as a .csv file (on the drop down list when you visit save as) and then upload it. That's how I've done it before. That should work!
In case you do not have Excel, you can use a free online service (Google Docs or Zoho) or the free Open Office program suite to import the Word file, then make the conversion to CSV.
I do have Excel, that's not the problem.
But please do consider adding an option for pasting tables from word directly. It would make the job of adding additional data to support the hubs so much easier!
More so, the csv format does away with a lot of formatting options that add to the look and feel as well.

The table capsule does not appear to be working. It won't allow a file to be uploaded.

Hi HubPages,For my new hub, http://hubpages.com/hub/LED-Lenser-Flashlights-Coast, I want the tables to each be on their own full column, not slid up under the left column of the module above. For some reason, though, most of them are displaying that way. That looks awkward and necessitates...

Do you have trouble formatting text in the text capsule of your hubs?I don't know if it's just me but this has been an ongoing problem for me since I joined HP. I prefer to type my work out in a word document and then copy-paste but sometimes the format is ruined. Usually, my spacing is...

HubPages' new policy of spreading out the pictures and rearranging hubs has made an absolute mess of so many of my pieces. It will take a lot of editing and re-writing and formatting for a large number of my articles because they are in need of photos that are placed NEXT to the text, not on...

I was just wondering if HubPages has the option, or has given any thought to adding an option, in the table capsule to format column width. I use a lot of tables and have never seen this, but would love to be able to do have that function. Thank you.

Apparently, I may have posted this query/problem: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/78255#post1692114in the wrong thread. I am still puzzled by this problem..about the new capsule formatting, and the forced left margin setting for ALL line breaks. It is very frustrating. I do hope this...
