I searched the tutorials and also noticed many other hubbers asking about this. So what does it actually do?
I thought it used to allow you to get a link to a specific post, but that's not what it did. What do you mean by tag a specific post?

I didn't post a blank answer. I pulled a post from another thread, which this exact question was already answered by Paul Deeds.
I found his answer, hit reply to his post and then click on the link to show me the entire post, then I copy and pasted his answer as my answer to your question.
Thus, I didn't post a blank answer. I posted someone else's answer to this question.
Now, if I wanted to, I could have used the permalink and directed you to his post, but didn't feel like doing that.

I know the other two, but still don't know what's a permalink! I am afraid that if I click on it, it'll bite me! I can't afford it biting my fingers.... need that to write more hubs....heheheehhee

I changed the titles on a couple of my hubs a while ago (and changed the tags to match the new titles), totally forgetting that the permalinks would still only contain the original titles.Besides my having to remember that some of my hubs have different permalinks than their titles, would there be...
