To place an external URL on your profile page, you need to have been a member for 1 week and published at least 2 hubs. You add links by using the chain-link icon, which becomes visible when your account is eligible.
You can place external links in hubs, but they have to be relevant for the hub's contents, and no more than 2 outbound links to the same domain in each hub. These links can be added as textual links by using the chain-link icon or by adding a link capsule to your hub.
To add a link using the chain icon (in the circumstances WE noted):
1. Type the word/s you want to turn into a link (for instance Visit my Blog)
2. Highlight the words with your mouse.
3. Click on the "link" button (looks like a chain).
4. In the box that pops up, insert web address.
5. Click ok and you're done.
