A Place For Squids To Connect

The SquidU Forum is where all the cool Squids hang out. It's the place to say hello if you're new, get great lensmaking tips or just chat with other Squids about the weather.

Whether you're looking for a place to promote your lenses or help with a technical question, there is a place for you at the SquidU Forum. SquidU Forum is the heartbeat of the greatest community on the web!

This lens is your guided tour through the SquidU forum. From learning the rules to having fun, this lens will show you where to go & what to do when you visit the SquidU forum.

The best way to keep up with all the latest Squidoo news is to visit the SquidU forum. The thing that makes Squidoo the coolest site on the web is the people who make up the Squidoo community.

SquidU forum is the place where Squidoo lensmasters (aka: Squids) go to get caught up on the latest Squid news, promote their lenses, get help with lensmaking problems, get advice on how to make their lenses better, or just make friends and chat.

Learn The Rules!

~ Spam: just don't do it. Thou also shalt not fill the forums with multiple threads on the same topic or sockpuppet

~ No posting ads for non-Squidoo services

~ No posting non-Squidoo links for promo purposes

~ You can and will get banned if you post spam. And, your account could get locked and/or deleted. So just don't do it.

Kimberly's Morning Coffee - Get regular State-of-the-Community updates from your Community & Charity Organizer.

SquidooKimberly, aka Kimberly Dawn Wells, is one of the first people you will meet when you visit the SquidU Forum. You will find her buzzing around all parts of the forum, helping us keep the peace, keeping us informed & chasing forum spammers out the door.

Learn The Rules

~ Thou shalt not flame, harass, denigrate, spam, malign, or otherwise finger-point and name-call at other lensmasters, Citizens or moderators. This one's a biggy. This too can get you banned.

~ SquidU is also a strict no-tolerance zone. If you harass, name-call, or put-down any other user or lensmaster, you'll find yourself banned from using the forum.

~ Be nice and take your personal issues elsewhere

New? Introduce Yourself!

New to Squidoo? Say hi.

As the sign on the door say, the SquidU forum is your first-stop for one-on-one help with the total lensmaking process.

Getting in the door is as easy as using your Squidoo username and password to log in ~ no additional registration required! Next stop is this section to introduce yourself and say hello. Stop by the SquidU Forum and introduce yourself today!

Learn The Rules

~ Squidstaff love interacting with smart front-line people, so they stop by the forums from time to time to hear your ideas and share updates. However, this isn't the place to post bugs.

~ So if you have a bug or problem that can't be fixed at the forum, feel free to file a Bug Report

~ Please read this to report a Locked Lens

Now that you've introduced yourself, it's time to start building lenses and showing them off. We all need a little extra help polishing our lenses, I know I need a lot of help catching my typos, and the Critique Me section is a great place to get extra help polishing our lenses.

If you're looking for help with spelling, grammar, or just looking for ideas of what else you can do to make your lens look great, post it in this section & ask for a critique. Lot's of Squids will happily help you out. Then once you've been around awhile, you can join in & help new squids by giving critiques also.

Before asking your fellow lensmasters to critique your lens, be sure to read these helpful tips Looking for a critique? Read this first

Learn The Rules

~ The SquidU forum is a place for users to interact, to share ideas and inspiration (and yes, gripes... maybe another lensmaster can help) and have fun with their lenses. Try searching for an answer or visiting The Answer Deck

Hey, Bambi. Thanks for the guide.

I am using squidoo for about a year, but never used the forum too much. But a guide like yours helps a lot in starting doing it.

      :-)

The forums are a totally underused part and benefit of Squidoo. Lots of great Squidoo stuff. Additionally, I just posted something I was struggling with about a name and MysticMama was one of the people who helped me on the forums! I spent $100 at Elance and didn't use the names, but Lensmaters helped.

The accompanying blog is Changing the Guard Blog not the name of the business

Very nice intro to squidu and to squidoo in general. If I had seen this when I first got on squidoo, I wouldn't have left for almost two years. Recommended reading for all new lensmasters. Blessed (trusting that you'll update to reflect the streamlining of the forums).

I love the SquidU Forum for all the good stuff -- occasionally I see some things that I just wished never got put in the forum. We should all be courteous to our fellow lensmaster and if there are issues with that other lensmaster, we would think we are "big" enough to approach them directly. That's what I hope for. Happy New Year! A very creative look at the forum.

This is what I was looking for! I wanted to know who all were behind Squidoo maintenance and I see them listed down here in this lens. Will check some of their lenses too now to know more about them! Thanks for pointing out the difference between 'Chatterbox' and 'Squids Gone Wild' threads in the forum.
