The iPad Is A Great Learning Tool For Autistic Kids
Some schools for autistic kids in this country have been using the iPad to help these kids to communicate and be more motivated. Teacher found that they could set up the lesson better on the iPad and also found that the kids were understanding it better has well. One young boy works with a stylus to trace letters on the iPad screen when he has traced one letter successfully the tablet makes a cheering sound which brings a smile to the boys face. Working on the iPad has helped this boy with his writing has well as boost his confidence, soon he was able to write letters and in time put them together has words. And he has been able to carry it over to his paper work has well.
With the right applications many of these kids will have a great chance to learn and communicate with others, for some non verbal students they have used the text to speech applications called Proloquo2Go. When these kids use this applications it has open a whole new world to them, they are able to give answers to question in class just by pushing the right icon on the iPad screen, they even can recite the Pledge of Allegiance To The Flag with the other speaking autistic kids, just by touching the screen. Just by using this application kids have become excited, for the first time they are able to express their feelings and have someone respond to it. It has always been said that autistic children are very creative, will the iPad be the tool to take their creative ideas to the next level, it just may be. So far the iPad has been a success with the teachers who have used it with these young autistic kids and with the kids has well. It has taken their once limited world and expanded it into a vast limitless opportunity to learn just like every student does in their school .
I’m so very happy to see that the iPad has become more than just the next new gadget , and has become this great tool that these young autistic girls and boys can use to learn and help them better communicate with each other has well has people they meet each day. It has brought excitement to their lives and motivated them to learn new things, has well has build up their confidence to know that they to can learn just like other kids do.
