Age of Aquarius

Updated on September 24, 2014

We are now in the Age of Aquarius

If the age of Aquarius was "dawning" in the 1970's, then the sun is now squarely over the horizon. I invite you to take a couple of minutes to consider your new life as you transition from the age of Pisces to the age of Aquarius.

This transition is overdue. In the words of President Barack Obama

"Our economy is badly weakened, a consequence of greed and irresponsibility on the part of some but also our collective failure to make hard choices and prepare the nation for a new age."

Create what we desire from the spiritual energy we draw into this world

"The much-heralded Aquarian Age is thought to be an age of the development of the higher abstract or spiritualized mind." ....James Arthur Ray

We are leaving the age of Pisces, which coincided with the arrival of Christ, and entering into the age of Aquarius. During this "changing of the age" we have already begun to feel the shifting of energy and of our consciousness to a different level. For many of us, it means we are more aware of the planet and its delicate balance with humanity. For some, it seems more chaotic, such as the volatility in the stock markets, for example.

The exact start date for the age of Aquarius is a subject of some disagreement among astronomy, astrology and theological experts: However, the signs of the age have already begun. The last age of Pisces was a mystical age. As we move to the Aquarian age, we begin in an age of luminosity.

Aquarius is a sign of friendship. Love in the spirit of understanding and collaboration will be more prominent than "love" in the sense of "belonging to another". Our individuality will be more integrated into a unity of humanity, or the "universal spirit": beginning with the fraternity of friendship. Aquarius represents the "water of life" and the spirit (or Holy Ghost) as a symbol of harmony between God and man.
