America is a continent, not a country.

In America its people speak in its majority Spanish, not english.

In America WE speak Spanish, English, Portuguese, French, Dutch, Mayan Languages, Nahuatl, Quechuca, Guarani, Aymara, Mapuche, Navajo, Apache, Sjoux, Cherokee, Inuktitut, Haitian Creole and Austronesian languages.

America has an area of 42,549,000 km2, not 9,826,675 km2.

WE Americans are 910,720,588 people, not 312,894,000.

In America there are 35 countries, not 50 states.

In America you can find winter and summer in December, summer and winter in July.

In America you can dance Cumbia, Merengue, Samba, Salsa, Tango, Reggueton, etc.

America has not fought every war they could get in to, in its majority they kept peace.

America is Capitalist AND Communist.

America was home of the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas; and WE Americans love our ancestors.

WE Americans suffer from the violence of the cartels, but we are fighting through.

America was discovered by Cristóbal Colón, Friday 12 of October 1492.

America has some of the highest mountains in the world, and some of the driest deserts.

America has the longest river and the largest tropical forest in the world.

In America there are 36 different currencies, aside from the dollar.

In America there are different races, languages, ideals, and religions. There is no higher and lower class between Americans, no matter of our skin color, language or beliefs. We are all Americans and together we must stand proud. of who we all are.

I am Guatemalan, but I am also American.

      Thank you for the good feedback, it's great to find someone that agrees with me. It is essential that we get this out there people must realize this mistake. It has also bothered me for some years now :D Thanks for the support

      THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm portuguese.. I live on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.. and now I can say "There is still hope for America.". I've been clarifying this in forums and such for yearsssss! The problem seems to be the confusion between CONTINENT and SUB-CONTINENT.

      America being the CONTINENT... devided into three sub-continents. Also... in portuguese we have the word "estado-unidenses" very similar to the spanish version.. that denominates correctly the U.S.Americans (by the way this is the correct form in english too). =)

      So thank you for putting this information out there!
