1. Edmonia Lewis - A famous sculptor, who was known for her busts of famous people like Abraham Lincoln.
2. Lillian Evanti- Was the first African Americans to start a career in Opera.
3. Margeret Murry Washington- Was the Editor of a campus Newspaper.
4. Lena Horne -she was a singer and actor at the Cotton Club in 1933.
5.Major Taylor-Was the fastest bicycle rider in the world.
6. Isaac Murphy- was one of the greatest jockeys in history.
7. George Monroe- deliver mail on the Pony Express.
8. Mervyn M. Dymally- He was the only black to serve in congress in 1980.
9. Matthew Alexander Henson-He was the first one to reach the North Pole.
10. James Beckwourth -lead a wagon train and discover a path through the mountain.
11. Jesse Owens- was one of the world's greatest track stars.
12. Jack Johnson- was a prizefighter.
13. Benjamin Banneker -made a clock that worked.
14.Dr. Daniel Williams- was a surgeon and a medical Pioneer.

Black History is a month that we celebrate and recognize the achievement of Afro-Americans who made a positive change in American History. Black History teaches us about the past and the struggles of our ancestors when was capture and brought to America as slaves.
