Change Is Happening

Change is happening in the world, whether we like it or not, but when they tell what happened here in history, what side will you be on?

Change

Ok, if you haven't been living under a rock, then you know that there are protests going on all over the world right now, and the media is not doing a good job portraying the actual peaceful protests.

As a teenager, I am online a lot, especially since its summer and I don't have a job, so scrolling on Tik Tok, it isn't uncommon for me to find footage of peaceful protests, something that you rarely see on the news.

I also know that one day, all of the footage just stopped appearing, Tik Tok starting taking down footage that proved news hosts that they were wrong.

Things only get violent because of the police, not because of the protesters themselves, looting is happening by people not partaking in protesting for The Black Lives Matter Movement.

There has been footage of police slashing peoples tires, of them putting bricks out it entice the idea of throwing them, of them breaking windows and then later blaming it on the peaceful protesters.

The people deserve the right to get made, it is in the Bill of rights:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

While we are talking about the Black Lives Matter movement, I would like to put one more thing in from the bill of rights:

"The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude--"

People have been turned away or told that the voting stations were closed because of the color of their skin and I find that grotesque. It states in the bill of rights that they should not be denied the right to vote.

Yet people cry and scream over the fact that we want stricter gun control laws.

Sorry Karen, but I don't want my kids dying in their school because you think I'm being too stingy.

Here is a multitude of Tik Tok videos showing peacful people getting arrested and harmed simply for protesting

Remember

In history class, I was taught about the Boston Tea Party, about how they stormed on to boats and dumped years with of tea into the ocean as a sign of protest to the king.

I remember somebody threw pebbles at red coats and a person died because they shot at them, for throwing pebbles.

I remember how literally everything we have rights for was fought for with blood, teeth, and sweat.

We took to the streets and demanded the right to vote, the right to be free, the right to have a country where we can say what we want to say and practice any and all religions.

Everything we have was built by protests, buy pebbles being thrown and people getting killed. Do not act surprised that this is happening, that the protests came from nowhere.

This is what comes when people have had enough, and we have had enough.

ACAB

There is not one time in history I can remember there wasn't war or battles or people being killed.

Throughout all time, people have fought for the right to be free, for the right to know that nobody owns them, that they are theirs.

Every day people of color never know what could happen, to themselves or other people they care about. I am white, so I do not understand what they have gone through, what they are going through right now, but I am an ally and I stand with them.

I have never been scared of the police until recently, I have never even thought about the idea of the police killing innocent people, but it happens.

When I first heard "ACAB", I was confused, but if you look up the definition of b*astard, for an adjective is says "(of a thing) no longer in its pure or original form; debased."

I think that the police have never been a good thing, and I hope that we can change it to be better so that nobody has to be scared of getting killed or arrested because of the color of their skin.

The world is a terrible, wonderful place, full of people who are bad and good, there is a saying "A few bad apples spoil the bunch" and that is what happened with the police because of course there are good cops, but they stand by and do nothing while the bad cops kill people, so how good are they really?
