Could Rudy Eugene, The Face Eating Man In Miami Be The Beginning Of A Zombie Plague

On Saturday, May 26th, Miami, Florida resident is shot and killed by police officers after chewing off the face of a homeless man. Police stated that they told the man to stop and his only response was to look up and growl.

2012 has most certainly been the year of the zombie. With the end of the Mayan calendar fast approaching stories of the end of the world and zombie apocalypses have spread like wildfire. The movie industry has already sunk their fingers into this craze producing more zombie type films then ever before, but it doesn't stop there. The internet is now loaded with zombie survivalist guides, apocalypse camps and even zombie combat training courses.

In May of 2011 the CDC even gave out a warning and made a survival guide to help Americans prepare for the coming apocalypse, granted it was done in mock form but what else could you expect they would never risk discrediting their name with the general public of non-believers. So to say that some people are taking this serious would be a huge understatement on the grandest scale.

So now it seems to many, that the so called prophesy may indeed be at hand at this very moment. On Saturday, May 26th of 2012 the world may have just witnessed it's first attack in the zombie apocalypse. In Miami Florida a man by the name of Rudy Eugene was found naked on the causeway eating the face off of a homeless man.

The name of the victim was Ronald Poppo and the man had been homeless for over 30 years. Both witnesses and police have stated that Euegene was naked, Saturday, when he attacked the other man on the MacArthur Causeway, next to the Miami Herald building.

According to police reports and eyewitness accounts, by the time police arrived on the scene Eugene had already eaten 80% of the mans face off. Upon seeing the situation police drew their weapons and commanded Eugene to stop his attack immediately.

Instead the man just raised his head, with pieces of flesh still in his mouth and growled at the officers. It was at that point that the yet to be named officer shot Eugene up to 6 times before finally killing the man.

Since the incident the media has been able to locate the ex-wife of Rudy Eugene, a woman by the name of Jenny Ductant. The woman was said to have told the media that Eugene had never really shown any signs of mental instability before, though their divorce was based on his violent behavior.

She claimed that his biggest problem was insecurity, that he had always thought that everyone was against him and that no one was ever for him. Ductant and Eugene had been divorced since 2007 and hadn't seen each other in 3 - 4 years.

Do you beleive Rudy Eugene to be the first zombie of an oncoming plague

With Eugene being dead we couldn't know for sure exactly what caused this cannibalistic outrage but it doesn't stop us from wondering. So what's your opinion of this gruesome roadside buffet? Was it the start of a plague destined to wipe out the world population or merely a case of a severely deranged individual who was in desperate need of a padded room and shock therapy?

The case obviously doesn't completely resemble zombie-ism as portrayed in the movies or we would obviously have a faceless man roaming the streets looking for his own snack rather than lying in intensive care. Then again real life never is exactly like the movies, who's to say what it is for sure, at this point only time will tell.
