I Had the Strangest Dream

Updated on October 28, 2011

Black Cat

I’m at that point where you know you’re on the brink of catching a real good and long slumber and all of a sudden a dream, or more like a nightmare, begin to develop. “Oh shit! What the fuck was that?“ A black cat, unexpectedly bites me on my ribs.

“To dream that a cat is biting you, symbolizes the devouring female. You may be expressing some fear or frustration especially when something is not going as planned."

"To see a black cat in your dream, indicates that you are experiencing some fear in using your psychic abilities and believing in your intuition. You may erroneously associate the black cat with evil, destruction, and bad luck. If you see a white cat, then it denotes difficult times."

It’s no big deal, it disturbed me a little bit, but that quickly faded.

As my sleep progressed, it might have been hours later, another dream started to develop. Now, I’m in a reality show, like a Jersey Shore, you know the ones you see on MTV or VH1. There’s some type of acorn or something stuck on an exterior wall of a house built from the 80’s, plugging a hole; similar to the introduction of that movie, Ice Age. Perhaps I was watching it before I passed out. I am to wipe all of it out clean with a water hose. The host of the show makes a comment of how I will not succeed in doing that. Now, I’ve got a broom and not only do I wipe it out of the wall, but I sweep it out of the wooden floor onto the creek nearby.

Now, we have to entertain our guests by performing some sort of show. It’s my turn and I find myself under the water; swimming, with a dolphin following me. It feels like I’m riding the dolphin because I’m swimming so fast. I feel like a torpedo actually. Now, I ascend up to the surface of the water and flip around twice and in some cases, three. The dolphin follows what I do, but I still feel like I’m riding it.

“To see a dolphin in your dream, symbolizes spiritual guidance, your intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust. Utilize your mind to its capacity and you will move upward in life. Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions.

To dream that you are riding a dolphin, represents your optimism and social altruism.

Two different dreams, two different implications. The first dream already manifested itself today in the form of me getting a ticket for not wearing a helmet while I rode my neighbor’s son’s little electric motorcycle. Just my luck. Usually, I ride that bike to the closer convenient store, 7-11. Today, I went to the other convenient store. As I rode it across the street, “Wee ooh wee ooh weeh woooooooooooooooo!” He wrote me up for not wearing a helmet. There’s the cat portion of the dream, the bad luck section.

Now, I can move up in life as it states above, “Utilize your mind to its capacity and you will move upward in life.” And I’m still holding on to the little optimism and altruism I have in my little heart.

Do share your dreams with me.

My dreams are mostly hazy too. I used to try to write down all I can remember from a dream right when I woke up when it's still fresh and vivid in my mind, but I just choose to be lazy these days. Ben Zoltak? Perfect. I make art myself so I'll definitely read some of his articles. Thanks again!

Can't say I have the wit to relay the substance of my dreams as clearly as you do yours. My dreams are mostly concocted in the hazy back alleys of some form of substance abuse.

BTW, you should look up a Hubber named Ben Zoltak. His contributions to the Hubisphere are well worth reading.
