Follow up:Child failing 3rd grade becuase of 66% Attendance Rate Passes Academics
It brings joy to my heart when someone grows and becomes blessed with opportunity. I wanted to take a few moments to follow up on a story written a last week about the child from Clyde, Texas that was being held back because she missed too much school because of doctor or varied health care appointment which brought her attendance to 66%.
Originally, she was being held back, however; thanks to over 250 readers, the young girl with special needs that did pass her academics and the required STARR test get to move on to face the fourth grade. Thank you to for the readers who decided to take action and shared so others were able to get involved. From what I gathered the last attendance appointment was rather quick.
I also want to thank the school for doing the right thing. The family should have received an apology from all those that actually broke the law and broke the spirit of that little girl. At least she knows she did do her best, and her best is all any of us can ask for. I can now happily say as of 8:10 on June 18, 2015, she is passing and not being held over. This is a win for those trying to impact society and make a change one person at a time. Thank you to whomever found the time to read and shared the truth!
