Fulfilling the Desires of the Flesh and Mind

Ephesian chapter 2 - verse 3 : Among whom also, we all had our conversation in times past in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh.

We all have had lustful desires at one time or another, but by the grace of God we have over come the desires of the flesh. When we were young, we let our hormones and emotions run wild, and get the best of us. As we grow older, we realized that we have to learn to control both our emotoins and hormones or they will be a detriment to us and our character.

When we grow in Gods good grace we learn to abstain form sexual promiscuity and fleshly desires, that cause us to commit carnal acts with our flesh. When we're lusting in the flesh, we're satisfying the carnal mind in us. We all have satisfied fleshly desires at one time or another, when we learn Gods truth; we live it, and abstain from all forms of carnal desires.

I don't want to just talk about sexual immorality, because fleshly bodies desires other things that's not good for us like drugs, smoking, alcohol, and exotic foods. When we let our neccessities turn into raging desires and compulsions, then we have a carnal problem with our flesh. There are many things in our life that we are driven to participate in, but we have to gather all the the strenght we can summon up and get down on our knee and pray, asking God to remove these lusty desire from us.

If we really mean it, when we pray, and believe it in our hearts; it shall be done. God said his words would not return unto him void. I have been heal of my cigarette addiction, soon to be twenty years and I know; I was healed by his grace.
