How Important Is Mindfulness?
Having the ability to process and formulate cognitive procedures and pathologies implement them into everyday life is a vital asset to the human experience-So much so, that it is deeply ingrained in people from childhood to be conscious and aware of one’s own actions, so as to be considerate and attentive to the best interest of another. It is constructed as a foundational fundamental to be assimilated into the very fibre of human nature in order to mitigate an inflammatory reaction upon the primitive impulses and intuitions that are inherently inhabiting the core essence within each and every member of the species. From an early age, people are informed of the requisite demand of the essentiality to adapt to correspond cohesively with all of the possible eventuations that transpire in the world around us. A contingency plan is constructed for well-raised individuals on account of the philosophy of the gospel truth that the world will not bend to fit the will of a single being, so instead, they must instigate the gestures and behaviours that may or may not be reciprocated.
These are the basics of the human subsistence within the world, and it is harsh in the perspective of some, but regardless, they must continue to persist through their life upon this Earth. Of course, different people react and respond differently to certain situations, and that occurs as a combinative consequence of their own inherent impulses, and what they have been environmentally conditioned to incorporate into their own personal mental integrity and philosophy through their progression; Sometimes indelibly congenital developmental instincts are primarily influential upon any given course of approach to a circumstance or obstacle in life, but fortunately or unfortunately, there are precedents and protocols of expectation placed upon the shoulders of every member of a “civilised” society. It extends to absolutely every region of life, and often can have lingering and enduring implications for the future. In the majority of cultures in the economically developed world, such progressive mentalities of advancement and virtue have evolved and been nurtured into cultivation by the social elite, and then imposed on everyone below the pinnacles of the esteemed balcony atop the zenith of which they reside.
It is only in recent decades that these augmentations to the prevailing zeitgeist have been made, however, and it is a travesty that they have only resulted due to the necessitated learning curbs from literal centuries of disparity, bigotry, oppression and brutal incompetence. That itself again is another of the innate inevitability of the organic mechanics that comprise life. Individually, people have become selfish, self-centred pariahs, all due to the road to hell being paved with the good intentions of taking the onus of the demand of self-awareness upon oneself to an extreme and allowing it to exacerbate beyond their self-control. Others have successfully been able to devote their lives to the servitude of others, in a benevolent display of generosity, graciousness and nobility. But the oracle of truth in the vast majority of those scenarios is the fact that both have been derived from the overbearing collective mentality of making a communal contribution to society, which has been little more than the retreat from the shamefully disgraceful lineage of the past’s transgressions. It could easily be interpreted as a disingenuous stratagem devised upon the predication of concealing the incompetent and unfathomably ignorant misdemeanours of human history.
Years upon decades, upon centuries, have dictated an intolerant insensitivity to the unique unconventionality of those who are assigned under one of the many designations of the broad spectrum of sexual orientation, differing ethnicities, alternate genders and so much more. The people who are in any way associated with any of these sub-demographics of civilisation should be liberated to pride in their nature, but have been subjected to the duress of the zealous detractors who have committed severe hate crimes against them, taking umbrage with nothing other than the minor, insignificant matter of their existence. Now, upon the apparent “realisation” of their erroneous fallacies, the bigots have reluctantly come to accept the equal rights of those still occasionally victimised prey to the inexorably execrable evil of the suppressive rein of tyranny angled toward them, and have transitioned their hatred very slightly to taking issue with the pendulum swing to the over saturated and exaggerated “requirement” for pride and overt ingratiation, validating their arguments on the logic that the parades and flamboyant displays of unity are gratuitous and either pandering or patronising to those aligned with those subcultures and communities-When beneath the mendacious veil of concealment, their true motives are once again to suppress those people.
And that is all relevant to the cause of mindfulness and consideration. The courses of action the people proceed with are all informed by what they deem appropriate, and those discernments are informed by the origin of the instructs and teachings in which they had been imprinted upon, and the instinctive intuitions that are genetically innate. Unless under oppression and circumstances of subjugation, all action is voluntary, and to voluntarily disseminate one’s own principles and morals are the correlative cause that binds and links all the developments that have transpired over the course of time. Every revolt, fluctuation, conversion, proselytisation, and inspiration, organisation, and unification that has occurred in the history of humanity was initially formulated on one single notion, belief or philosophy. It informs art, emotion, actions and even thought processes, and is why ultimately the world has come to conclude that every action taken within it is a political one. Because, whether it is intended as such, or not, broadcasting a thought, feeling or literal execution of the theoretical will inevitably be interpreted as such by at least some spheres of a democratic society or a dictatorship.
The distinguishing feature between the political constructs is that, in a democracy, a single party of authoritative figures tasked with the compositing orchestration of a nation is purportedly inducted into establishment by the committee of the subjects occupying it; And a dictatorship is more imposed and audaciously enforced by the totalitarian ruler, impelling a subservience upon those below them. Though many would argue that a democracy is not much better than a dictatorship(and is a more passive method of manipulating the will of the subdued majority)-Where the elective process of establishing a particular party is simply a method of choosing one’s own poison. Cynical, but compelling cases have been made, and the pertinence of the grand scale of the political identity of a country lies within the reflective parallel of how mental frameworks are influenced upon everyone under the sun but at the most extreme and extraneous of circumstances. The formulating of a moral compass could be considered another method of a mandated injunction that is only effectively ingrained through the toilsome process of the ultimatum of punitive action if the commanding directives are not fulfilled. People designate this as “discipline”, and like everything, there are cases of advocacy or detraction that can be made for and against it.
It is the quintessential example of humans only being able to learn things “the hard way”-Only after making erroneous fallacies are incentives for improvement and enlightened growth derived, and it is only as a precautionary response to what people have been conditioned to expect as negatively reinforced repercussions. There is where the most troublesome elements of the quandary emanates; It could be posited that such a reaction is selfish, as any acts of what is deemed “benevolent” or “correct” is conditional upon the reward or the aversion of punishment in commensurate reciprocation of the general aura of the impression given from the taken actions. The tragedy of this ungovernable circumstance is that vagueness factors in if the intended sentiment behind an action is misinterpreted. The road to hell is paved with good intentions, after all. It is how self-awareness becomes most significant and imperative, because the misappropriated conveyance of even the most benign intention can be perceived as the total opposite, and implicate a response of native reinforcement. In the worst case scenario, that can discourage the perpetrator of the instigative action from repeating it, and they could consequently become more sinister in their intent. A succinct, universally palatable example of this would be in the tale of The Grinch.
Misunderstood and outcasted throughout his developmental years, the Grinch grew exponentially resentful and vitriolic in his attitude toward the Who’s and their practice of the celebration of Christmas, as his deprivation from the festivities was what traumatised him to the point of reclusion away from the remainder of his community, and being subsequently exhibitive of sociopathic tendencies. It was only through the symbolic gesture of compassion from a child that showed him that there could be salvation from his self-torment, and it made him repentant for the transgression he committed of stealing all of the presents, decorations and adornments from the entire town of Whoville. His fable is one that is more family orientated but is just as analogous of other delinquent reprobates of the real world. No matter the severity of their designation of the title of that, more frequently than not, it is the disparity of neglect or nonchalant disregard of their requirements or desires at some point in their life that has caused the manifestation of the behavioural predilections that they display.
As for pedophiles, a large aspect that amasses the controversial contention pertaining to the quandary with those guilty of fraternising with juveniles is the sensitive and dubious fact that they didn’t voluntarily elect to or decide upon the sexual orientation that renders them attracted to youths. Of course, the reason why it is a matter of debate and exchanges of velitation is because children, by virtue of the stage in their maturing process they are at, are deemed unable to consent to participate in intimacy with anyone, and are also susceptible to the potential manipulation they are likely targets of. If one is so inclined as to fall under the infatuation of feelings of intense affection for minors, the burden befalls them to restrain themselves from acting upon that will, and it would obviously require an immense degree of discipline and self-control to prevent a fallacy that would result in the trauma of a child. This can result in the internally inflicted retribution over the shame of being orientated the way they inherently are, and could inadvertently extend to a mishap where the felony is inevitably committed regardless. People that find themselves confronted by those predicaments are even the recipients of a moderate level of pity from the most compassionate of their peers, which can parallel murderers as well.
There are also people deemed pedophiles that qualify for the criteria of being termed as that on either end of extremity upon the spectrum-Those that are sinister enough to fully embrace their prerogative and capitalise on the innate naivety of youth to manipulate them into permitting the exploitative abuse of their innocence are unworthy of any acquittal from the judgement and decree of penance for justice in adherence with the law. They are malignant in their intent of supreme predation. Then there are those who are not even necessarily attracted to youths and themselves have fallen prey to a mistaken case of the age of those who they mingle with, or have been under the influence of narcotics or alcohol, and their discernment of the situation had been hindered to the point of the error. They would then find themselves in a situation of despair, and perhaps a similar extent of guilt or shame as those attempting to repress a genuine attraction.
It doesn’t justify their actions, as no matter what they have suffered through, there is a principle of precedented protocols that they should be aware of and should act accordingly. But there is where it once again defers to politics; Conformity is not the most desirable of all human traits for the majority of the species, as it has two dimensions to it. There are many who are resistant to the entire concept of the established system and believe that, in order for people to be truly “liberated”, the construct of governing bodies should be relinquished. There are justifications to this, but the rebuttal has always been a resounding retorsion of the absence of laws impelling a descent into primitive and fiercely savage anarchy and disorder. That is an exaggerated hypothesis of the potential outcomes of such liberty to do as one would please, but the lack of an ability to trust certain people to refrain from heinous or even minor crimes without the deterrence of punishment would remain a prevalently eminent consideration. People still commit those fallacies with repercussions in place. And when asked for a solution that would be more sustainable than the imperfect incorporation of the establishment of society currently, the lack of a plausible response it exemplary of the morose reality that nothing in this world will ever be infallible.
Despite that acknowledgement, people still resilient persist in their existence within this world, and it is only through the discipline of self-awareness and mindfulness that the perseverance through the relentless succession of tribulations and adversities that can make that plight bearable for them. That is why there is such an imperative emphasis placed upon self-aware mindfulness. Whether contrived and disingenuous or not, pre-anticipating situations can be a powerful ally to accompany someone through life. Overexploitation of precautionary action can, of course, create a detrimentally adverse effect, but without possessing the ability to do so, the alternative is only to use hindsight. And in retrospection is only ever consequential for the potential applicability it yields for corresponding action in the future.
