How to Cloak Your Phone Number When Making a Call

Updated on April 25, 2011

What would we do without the wonderful magic of the caller ID?! I do not think any one of us would hardly ever answer the phone, huh?! So, for whatever reason you want to make that mystery call to... whoever: An ex-, someone you cannot stand, or a friend you wish to prank.

Whatever your reasons, be careful not to abuse that so as to end up getting caught. I have read of software on the web that can counter-defend against a blocked phone number.

If you are making the blocked call from your landline, there may be a charge depending on your telephone company's terms. Otherwise, all cellphone carriers allow the call to be blocked at no charge.

So, here is how you do it... Yes, it took me a bit to get to the center of the Tootsie pop.

Dial * 67 + (targeted phone number - 999-9999) if it is a local number. Otherwise, for a long distance call, or outside of your local area code, dial * 67 + 1 + (targeted area code - 999) + (targeted phone number - 999-999). Presto.

Have fun and be safe. Do NOT be a stalker.  Tee Hee.
