Life Coaching - Why to Consider

Updated on July 25, 2015

Is Life Coaching For Everyone

This is a question that you must ask yourself, your honest self. Only you know if Life Coaching is needed in your life. Only you can make the decision to get help with your life and life decisions. Only you know what your struggles are. Most of us at some time have struggles.

We learn early or should we say; after a few disappointment, that sometimes it is not clever to speak our heart to just anyone. Somethings are better said to those who are not attached to us in anyway. It is merely gaining that trust and confidence to proceed with someone you do not know. Remember; these people are dedicating themselves to help you be a better you.

Is Life Coaching for Everyone? Probably not; could most of us use a mentor in our life? Probably so. No one has all the answers to life though and a Life Coach has trained themselves or gotten specialty training to help and encourage other individuals.

You make the decision.... and the information below hopefully will help you see if you do or don't, and why to consider.

Life Quotes

Albert Einstein

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle

Anais Nin:

The personal life deeply lived always expands into truths beyond itself.

Carl Sandburg

Life is like an onion: You peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep.

Dorothy Thompson

Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live.

Life Coaching Is Not About Being Weak

Getting a Life Coach is not about anyone being incapable or weak. It is actually being smart, if you are struggling with something you cannot get the answer that gives you peace. Life Coaching can help your find the answers sometimes buried within you, and helping you to see your inner strengths.

Coaching is just that coaching; it is not about telling you how to live your life, it is about helping you see the qualities within. It is about defining your capabilities that have never been used. It is about gaining more self confidence, self worth and the ability to enjoy your best self and not be afraid to see your own accomplishments. A coach is a sounding board and brings positive responses in your life, especially when you are making drastic life changes or even times of just needing someone to promote your success.

Using a Life Coach is often necessary to find help with decisions which one might feel are too complicated to make without being able to voice your concerns out loud to someone.

Family often cannot give you what you need. They love you, but that love often blinds a person's mind as they have ties that are too close to give an objective answer to certain needs in life. Therefore having someone who is not associated with one's private life, becomes more appealing than "spilling our guts" to family. Someone who is capable of giving support and creative advice of how to resolve issues that might be presenting problems.

Finding The Right Coach

Finding the right Coach is also about finding someone you feel comfortable with, to help you think constructively about your abilities, your desire, your disappointments and many other personal issues.

A Life Coach can and will help with the issues of life that we sometimes feel guilty about. For instance, you love someone as a friend but something about them drives you crazy. You want to discuss it, but you are not sure about the approach and how to; yet you know if you do not, you will lose your ability to deal with them.

The field is open to your heart's desires to talk about what matters to you. No judgment, no critic, nothing about what you have done wrong. Just listening and then sizing up the situation with some ideas of; what if? Often asking your questions you have not thought about.

A Life Coach can bring a very positive influence in your life, if you do not have one and even if you do. A Life Coach is someone helping someone else see the good, the positive, the possible, the impossible, the maybe, the inspiration to get up and go with your life when you feel you don't have what it takes.

Life Coaching is not about psychology; if you need a doctor, they will definitely refer you. So if your needs go beyond needing a "Coach" you should seek professional help.

Why To Consider

Why Consider?

  1. One, you do not have to be afraid the information you give a Coach will leak.
  2. This is one thing you can do for yourself that is worth every penny to pay.
  3. It can revive your inner feelings about you body, mind and soul.
  4. It can and will give you the ability to say no to people you have not been able to before.
  5. Coaching can take you to another level to better know yourself so that you can make better and more thoughtful decisions with procrastinating.
  6. It can give you insights as to why you act, re-act and do not act in certain situations.
  7. It can help you revive a lost passion that once was beautiful, but has become very stale.
  8. It can give you a new perspective in decision making.
  9. It can help you restore, build, and reach your maximum potential.
  10. It can give you the ability to step back and know that everything that happens in your life is not always your fault.

These are only a few of the benefits of Life Coaching.

Enjoy and find your Coach if you need to.

Thank you so much Glen for coming by here to read and your comment is very encouraging. I have found that sometimes people feel intimidated when someone mentions Life Coaching. Also often people who really need it the most; cannot look within to see what is possibly causing them issues. It is not failure, it is actually wisdom to know that one needs another person besides themselves to listen and take a look and suggest possible changes.

Thank you so much again for stopping by,

I came across your hub as I was researching Life Coaching. I feel this is an important consideration for many people, especially when they feel stuck and know they can do better but don't know how to proceed. A life coach can lead the way.

And as you explained in your hub, they can usually be the best person to turn to for all the reasons you listed in your section on "Why To Consider."

David Oguilvy thanks for your comments and stopping by to read. You know sometimes people do not need a coach but sometimes people cannot get motivated without someone to encourage them to either. I appreciate you coming by.

Great article! In my opnion most people do not need a life coach but they should simply take regular time to review their life themselves in stead of using the autopilot mode without entering a destination. I am orientating myself in life planning and use Having an overview in this crazy dynamic world is relieving. Although the whole life coach fashion almost appears like a new religion to me.

Springboard, I agree that not eveyone can do this. Some people cannot share things that are private to them with anyone.

Thank you for coming by to read and comment, I appreciate it.

I'm not sure if I'd ever consider a life coach, mainly because I'm stubborn as all get out. :) I certainly can see the case, however, for a third party opinion on an issue, or a third party perspective. There are often times a LOT in our own lives that we fail to see, and sometimes family is the worst at pointing those things out because of bias, or a disinterest in rippling the pond.

Great and helpful hub to anyone in need of such a service.
